17 year old girls. Little walking entrapments.

Mugato: 17 year old girls. Little walking entrapments.

I don't think they said whether it was a 17-year-old girl or a 17-year-old boy.

In fact, the article says they're investigating a history of the chief showing young men how to handle the hose.

Sounds like it was a 17-year-old male.

investigation that suggests a history of inappropriate behavior by Rittenhouse involving underage youths and young men.

The cadet who reported the texts said he had experienced uncomfortable touching

Also sounds like Mr. Pedophile needs to come out of the closet already. It's getting crowded in there.

Does this mean that the Fire Department won't get to play in any bowl games and we have to take down our statue of Kurt Russell from Backdraft?

17 years old does not a pedophile make.

If a 17 year old "boy" killed someone he would still be an underage youth by law but the law might try him as an adult. Power: you can have your cake and eat it too.

Yeah, I mean, at 17, someone is legal in around half the states in the US.

But either way, someone attracted to a 17-year-old isn't a pedophile. they're an ephebophile.

The first hint was this occurred at the Jerry Sandusky Volunteer Fire Company.

But how well is the fire department's football team doing?

17 is still not an adult. And it mentions his long-term interest in "underage youths". I think I'll stick with the pedophile comment. He seems to fit the role.

Anyone else think the article ended rather abruptly?

End of TFA:

A Fitch-Rona paramedic who had been in the Explorer program as a youth said Rittenhouse took him to a conference in 2003 when he was under 18, and their hotel room had just one bed.

And.......go on......??

A pedophile is, by definition, someone who is sexually attracted to a pre-pubescent child. This man, if he actually did anything with boys, would be classified as a Ephebophile (attracted to teenagers). Ephebophila is not universally considered a sexual aberration, since we all have the capacity to find older adolescents sexually attractive. These days, if he/she is 17, you're a sicko. But if he/she is 18, he/she is totally hot. It's completely arbitrary and a more than a tad ridiculous.

This. In most states it's either 16 or 17 -- unfortunately for this guy, not in Wisconsin.

For age 16+, it's just a misdeanor, though. One that's punishable by up to 9 months in jail. (WTF?)

I hope he's not married, though. Because adultery is a felony there, with up to 3-1/2 years. (WTF???)

I don't know, it doesn't sound like anything ever happened and there were other unrelated attempts to get him fired previously.

It sounds like someone got the balls rolling because someone there wants him off of the unit.

/best I could do.

This was the conclusion I came to as well.

Don't leave us hanging like that!

He was a fire capt, had at least 20 years in and he quit - he wasn't fired.
That means he'll still get his outrageous pension. For life.

the last non-denominational house of worship i attended had their act down pat on how to run programs while minimizing the risk of untoward behavior. it was simple:

--childrens bible class had minimum 2 adults in the room at all time, door open policy, parents were invited to peek in from the hall at all times (minimize interruptions).

--counseling for women/girls/wives was only done by the Pastor's wife (also a Pastor) with women to assist her.

--counseling for men & all men's activities was done by Pastor Frank along with other men that held positions in the house of worship.

they went out of their way to make sure chances are very slim that anything will slip through the cracks, to turn a phrase.

people need to wake up. in schools, churches, scouting, whatever - go out of your way to make sure everything is on the 'up and up'. having people aware they are being checked on, and having others check on them. sad it has to be that way but these days if you are a legitimate person you have to go to lengths to protect yourself as well as those you are responsible for.

That too.

/remember, 17 years and 364 days = ILLEGAL BAD PMITA PRISON TIME FOR YOU! But 24 hours later, they're magically legal and available to have their anuses used as a spittoon.

Actually no I'm not messing with you. I did not understand the meaning of the phrase until you sent me to wiki. I'm just naive about the phrase. Now I know... Thanks for pointing in the right direction.

Yeah it's really too bad his employer is going to honor the contract that they mutually agreed upon, isn't it?

I remember when all those Wall Street execs were getting billion-dollar bonuses after the bailouts, that bit of spin was in heavy rotation in the media.

Goose, meet gander.

Holy shiatsnacks. I know this guy, and a friend of mine worked with him on the department and with the Explorers.
