ariseatex: Either they played Ole less as the set went on, or NBC editing cut some out. Either way, end of the first set, 9 total Ole! riffs.

In 20 minutes. Once every two minutes or so, that we heard. Barf.

I don't know what time this match was played, but it's night there and it's been on for nearly 30 minutes. There is no reason for NBC to not show more than just highlights of tomorrow's women's soccer final.

I'm hoping for BMX. Not entirely against pole dancing either.

Get rid of some swimming distances. I mean srsly.

This USA/USA/ match is not as interesting, sorry (well, if you're really into beach volleyball obviously it's historic).

Kessy/Ross have some strong serves, I'll give them that.

I think beach volleyball has a long way to go before any part of it is considered "historic".

No matter who wins, we lose.

Does it bother anyone else that NBC make you watch every point again as a replay? I swear I watch every set twice w all these damn replays.

A well placed Blue Bayou serve.

Crotchrocket Slim: This thread could have embedded images of fit professional female volleyball players in every post and that would still be not enough pics.

We all should seriously stop BSing over why the summer Olympics beat the hell out of the Winter ones in regard to ratings...

You certainly mean pole vaulters.

There are filing in time, not much happened today for USA Olympians. Now the Netherlands' field hockey was awesome, but we'll see none of that.

Which is 9 there, likely around the same time NBC tapes the prime time show. They could show a good bit of tomorrow's game during the prime time show, even with some of those skipping ahead bits.

Ratings.

That of course would be one opinion. I'm sure the volleyball enthusiasts include some who disagree.

/off to look up the ever-changing definition of "current event"

Hey, at least you can see it online (well if your cable/sattelite provider carries the NBC extra channels).

I know she's the first from Saudi Arabia, doubt she's the first Arab female runner though (especially if you consider Turkish athletes to be Arabian).

This clueless American barely knows the difference. Thanks.

Would they be Turksh?

It's been this way the last three or four matches I've seen. How about filling it with great sports and sportsmanship wether it has USA in it or not. Say field hockey.

/I know. Preaching to the choir. It helps to vent though.

I need help coming up with events for The JoeTown First Backyard Olympiad.

So far I have; Crab Walk Dash, Clothes Pile Try-On, Shoe Box Sprint and The Hand To Hand Sand Demand.

There will be no kids but we will be in public.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, unless you consider the men's indoor volleyball team completely falling apart and getting destroyed by the Italians. I'm sure there will a brief "Oh by the way" 2 second mention in the nightly wrap-up.

Good point, but the 2011 WWC final drew a 7.4 on ESPN. I'm still going to watch it live, but I'd love to see NBC give the USWNT some spotlight. Maybe they'll surprise me.

You do realize that if you have a cable package that gets you the NBCSOC channel the game will be played live just like every other match correct? They have shown every game live of the tourney, mens and womens

Also consider the way the US men's water polo team vomited all over itself against Croatia.

So, what are the "Be in Bed by 9pm" drink words again?

Ole, any political commercial, any NBC shiatty new series commercial, and any time Costass says (catch word of the day)?

Aww, I missed diving. I was in Gryffindor with her.

Seven Ole!s in the second set, giving us a total of 16 Ole!s for the match.

You do realize that there are many people who can't stream stuff at work, right? I know a lot of us can do it, but there are just as many (if not more) who work in places where that is either explicitly blocked or would just get them in trouble.
