I've heard rumors that they're actually going to use Sanchez right up until they get into the red zone, and then pull him and put in Tebow Christ inside the 20.

As a Jets fan who actually listens to what the coaches say and not what ESPN says they mean; Tebow will be used a wildcat QB, fullback, halfback, and the punt protection. What ESPN hasn't realized is that the new OC for the Jets will only help Sanchez get better and limit the usage of Tebow. Tebow will be apart of a lot of plays, just not that many as a QB.

As a Bronco fan I am amused that you think it's going to turn out that way. I give it week 5 and the fans will be going nuts for Tebow to start. Sanchez throws 5-7 interceptions in a 2 game period and it will happen.

The difference between the Broncos and the Jets is that the Broncos front office that drafted him wasn't there last year. So they had a second string QB who caused lots of problems for them because the fans demanded he play. If he didn't win no big deal it was Denver. If he did win, great. This is New York, you have to win. If you don't win they will throw you out like this morning's Post and forget you ever existed.

But he did win. I know I know, he did it on the back of a very stingy defense. But hey, the Jets have a solid D too. Rex is also a gambler. I wouldn't put it past him to start Tebow just to light a fire under Sanchez's aass when, not if, he goes on a slump. I imagine if the Jets go on a 3 game slide he wont have much to lose. Starting Tebow would shut the fans up and make Sanchez the hardest working QB in the game overnight. And who knows, it wouldn't be the first losing streak Tebow has put an end to.

Get over yourself. Denver is small, but don't delude yourself into thinking there's anything else going on here. It's Broncos, Broncos, Broncos, food, air, Broncos. But please continue to tell us how winning is the expectation for the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. Peyton skipped that nightmare for the Broncos for a reason.

I'm getting a bit weary of hearing that justification. They closed the season with nothing but must win games and lost four out of their last five. A couple of them featuring some historically bad qb play.

Meh, sounds like self fellatio. As difficult as it may be to understand... New York is in no way unique to this mentality.

But uh, yeah... I see where you're going with this.

Rhypskallion: The Patriots have proven to be Tebow-proof. What else is there for the Jets? Can anyone in the AFC beat an improved Patriots team? Anyone?

Hmm, the Patriots have a relatively easy schedule this year:

at Tennessee Titans
Arizona Cardinals
at Baltimore Ravens
at Buffalo Bills
Denver Broncos
at Seattle Seahawks
New York Jets
at St. Louis Rams
Buffalo Bills
Indianapolis Colts
at New York Jets
at Miami Dolphins
Houston Texans
San Francisco 49ers
at Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins

I'd say their toughest AFC games this year are:
@Ravens (Revenge game?)
@Bills (doubtful, but they did pull out the win early last year)
@Seahawks (Seahawks normally play much better at home).
@Jets (Contrary to Pats fans beliefs, the Jets/Pats series hasn't been completely one sided in recent years.)
vs. Texans

Out of that group, The Texans and Ravens probably have the best chance of winning. Again, this is just based off of AFC opponents.

True, but when compared to Denver there is a lot more space given for failure, and that is the key here. How much space will be given for either QB if neither start to win.

PowerSlacker: @Seahawks (Seahawks normally play much better at home).

I'm not saying the Seahawks are world beaters - one look at their 5 year record should answer that question - but for all the talk about how poorly West coast teams play in the 1PM EST time slot (aka, "breakfast football", as in the Chargers, Cardinals, 49ers, Raiders etc. are playing games at either 11AM or 10AM after the switch (!), there's something about east coast teams playing in Seattle and to a lesser extent, California. about two years ago the NFC South played the West and the Saints, in their super bowl year, did not perform well on the road. Tampa Bay (who just sucked)played flat outside of a come from behind win at ARizona.

it is kinda fascinating as the Western teams just haven't been great period (Cardinals, the dreadful Raiders, the Chargers were close but seem to have regressed a bit, 49ers had the 2011 resurgence but before that were bad under Nolan and CAN'T WIN WITH HIM.

Who in turn could ask the Patriots fans. Twice. And the bills. And the chiefs. Truth is they backed into the playoffs after three straight embarrassing losses to close the season in which Tebow played his worst football of the year, had an outstanding win vs the steelers, then he reverted to form in a 35 point loss to the patriots. So, the answer to your rhetorical questions is, 'sure, he wins. but he also loses. a lot. and looks like shiat doing it.'

as a Cardinal fan, i loved reminding Giants fans last year that for all the shiat *we* took for "backing" into the playoffs with a 9-7 record the season we went to the SB, Giatns fans were int eh same boat.

The NFC West has been bad for awhile. It is what it is, as the syaing goes. I never rooted for the 49ers but it was nice to see them represent the division well.

LOL so a guy in his second year didn't meet your standards, even though he's got a winning record and helped lead the Broncos to their first playoff win since 2005. What did your favorite QB look like in his first two seasons? Did he take some embarrasing losses? Not look true to form? Did he even play a game in his first two seasons at all? Because if you don't hold your own team's QB to the same high standards, you're a hypocrite.

And let's not pretend that the defense had anything to do with the two beatdowns the Broncos took from the Pats, it might fark your whole point all up.

Tebow was as responsible for his team's success as Dilfer and Johnson were for theirs.
