I expect much discussion related to the majestic møøse.

The entire ordeal was caught on camera after Findlay handed his cell phone to a neighbor. He said his wife has a fear of moose and he wanted to capture the moment on video.

Ha, look what I did today Betsy!

It's a nice thing to do for the animal, but a damned risk to get that close to a multi-hundred-pound, agitated critter. I think I would've climbed up to the slide platform and reached out to cut the chains close to the top. Otherwise it would be better to tranq it.

Always approach it from the side and put your hand on its hindquarters to let it know you are there. Cut the chain above the antlers so you can have a grip on it, and hold the chain fast after cutting it. Once you've got the moose settled down, slide the chain off its antlers while keeping your other hand on its flank. Speak to it in hushed, soothing tones and use reassuring words to help it relax.

Once the moose is mostly unentangled, slip your hand under its belly and the other behind its ear. Stroke firmly to let the moose know it is not in any danger. Bring it some water and oyster crackers, as the animal is probably a bit dehydrated and hungry from the ordeal.

Freeing a moose from a swingset isn't easy, but it's very rewarding to know that you've done a good thing for this majestic animal.

EvilEgg: Lyme

Actually, moose tend to carry moose ticks, which A) don't carry Lyme, and B) don't go for humans.
