I am happy with mine. Filled with comics, games, action figures, dorks, and silly banter. This place is pretty cool though.

Apparently not here.

That is a pretty cool store layout. I'd enjoy looking around there.

It's a coffee-table book about coffee tables, that turns into a coffee table!

The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!

...wait...

I agree though, this happens a lot more and in better designs than this store. Honestly, who chooses form over function like that?

I think the design qualifies as "playful" and there's nothing wrong with that. If it makes the customers feel good just walking into the store I'd say it's a winner.

Um, I'm using firefox, and I can see your damn content behind your popup (meaning I don't actually need javascript to interact with your content). When will web developers finally come to the realization that they have no control over what the end user is going to do and that artificial lockouts and the like will just tick people off.

Was my thought as well, but on a little reflection, it's probably an art or some other type of reallistically not-a-store store that someone is going to write off in some fashion.

I have a beer store that actually looks like a beer. So I have that going for me. Which is nice.

Let me know if they employ teenage Japanese girls that also look like comic books. Only, without the tentacles.

Comic book stores really started to suck in the mid-90's(perhaps indicative of the generally shiattiness of 90's comics, I'm looking at you, Image). People who knew nothing about comics opening up lame, sterile shops more intent on selling lame collectible card games, d&d, what have you. They became a place for all sorts of fringe hobbies that just didn't belong. Kind of like Twilight and all the rest of the gay shiatt that's invaded comic-cons over the past decade.

Took all the fun out of visiting the shops I would frequent.

Way too clean, and where's the 300 pound clerk with the greasy ponytail?

That place is far too clean, open, well light for magic players. And there's not near enough ventilation. I know, I used to play.

Oh, and no tables, or junk food visible? Don't you dare tell me a dude is going to play magic without soda, cheetos, cheesburgers, or some diabeetus inducing candypile.

It's in Haneda Airport, which means their space is pre-determined and they have no storage issues or competition. They can look like they want.

Besides, most stores in Tokyo aren't that cramped. Only really nerdy specialty items shops are claustrophobic. Most places like to give you some elbow room because everyone lives in a shoebox so they like to stretch out when they're shopping.

England.

My librarian sense goes "That's utterly cool, love the idea...but that's going to be hell to shelve in places." Great display for doodads, yes. Books, not really...

I can't figure out how soccer balls, stereos, and a giant banana qualify as 'comic merchandise' expect that it's comical to shop for that stuff in a comic store.
