To be fair, it's pretty damn hard to get a tow truck in northern India.

I'm not sure why people's reaction to finding a deserted vehicle is to destroy it.

We had a friend's old land yacht on a backwoods road where it probably shouldn't have been. Sure enough, we get a flat tire. Of course, we have no spare. This led to a long, dark, and cold walk back to cell service. The next morning, we get a wheel and drive back out to where we left it. The car had been shot full of holes, and then torched. It had been less than 12 hours! It was in the middle of butt fark nowhere on something hard to describe as a "road," and yet someone managed to find it and destroy it. Douchebags...

You usually have to go to New York to get that kind of treatment.

Well, when you live out in the middle of BFE you don't have a lot of options for entertainment aside from drinking, screwing, and blowing shiat up. You should count yourselves lucky you didn't encounter dueling banjos during your walk back.
