If she is worried about the 'ok i'll buy that book because it is cheap enough' crowd, I don't think the book is going to sell that well either way

2012-08-08 09:45:15 AM
The article states she is 79.

79???

She was 79 when Elvis was in uniform

2012-08-08 09:45:48 AM
I'll take Costco and gladly leave Joan for others.

2012-08-08 09:45:59 AM
Wow. She went full Godwin. You never go full Godwin.

2012-08-08 09:46:22 AM
I like Joan Rivers, but this is pretty dumb.

Costco doesn't have to sell your book if they don't want to. It isn't like "Nazi Germany."

2012-08-08 09:47:48 AM
I am going to assume she was joking with regards to the First Amendment and Nazis.

2012-08-08 09:59:15 AM
Costco is awesome.

Joan Rivers? Not so much.

2012-08-08 09:59:52 AM
"Comedienne Joan Rivers had to be escorted from a Costco store in Burbank Tuesday after she appeared inside, loudly protesting the fact that her new book was not for sale there."

That's because Costco has quality control.

2012-08-08 10:00:10 AM
And not a moment too soon.

2012-08-08 10:02:12 AM
Oh look. She has a new book out and pulls a publicity stunt. I'm shocked!

"It's about First Amendment rights,"

Joan, you ignorant slut, the 1st doesn't require a private business to carry your book.

2012-08-08 10:10:26 AM
FTA she claims they're not selling the book because of one work on the back cover.

WHAT IS THE WORD?????

2012-08-08 10:23:49 AM
I think Costco knows the book is going to get remaindered and decided to not waste the money on transportation and labor costs already.

Years ago, I bought a five-seater paddle boat at Costco. They insisted that we load it on a flat cart and push it to the till. Mrs. Henry proceeded to fill the boat with 72-pack rolls of toilet paper and five gallon drums of beans.

It was a weird experience.

Why would anyone support Costco. The idiot in charge is the biggest Obammy supporter there is.

Ban Costco the Dems shop there.

Yes, someone really did try to make it about politics.

Well DUH. This is 2012. Everything must revolve around politics. Your every waking thought should be about your political opponents and how they are trying to ruin your life.

In another article she said:

"Rivers claims that the chain banned her book I Hate Everything...Starting With Me because of its racy content, and so she took matters into her own hands."

I used to be in love with her when I was in the second and third grade, they used to wheel the tv out in class and let us watch The Electric Company and 321 Contact. Of course I didn't know it was her, I just remember being in love with the ladies voice who did the narration for Captain Letterman.

Oddly enough, you still see a lot of books from derptastic right wing authors like Coulter for sale at Costco. So even though the founder of the company leans left, he doesn't discriminate against a book based on its politics.

I am ashamed to admit I have watched her fashion show thing on E a few times and found her rather hilarious.

It could be that she's always been funny (never seen her before) or it could be that she has reached the super stage of 'who gives a fark I'm old I'm going to be catty and have too much surgery and do whatever I want'.

All the others on her show were wooden and seemed vaguely uncomfortable when she made jokes, so either she was over or under drugged, or they were. Of course the 'others' included such notables as the Osbourne girl with hair dyed ancient gramma gray and in some faux 50s style that made her head look 40 times too big for her body and just looked like shiat.

Welcome to Costco. I love you.*

* Costco's love applies to everyone, except Joan Rivers.

I normally find her annoying, but she was actually quite good that time she guest starred on Louie.

There is no such thing as too much publicity.

Joan once had a mid-morning talk show, which once featured a hilarious interview with members of GWAR.

Rivers was on the Costco premises for about 30 minutes with an entourage in tow -- including a full-blown camera crew.

Joan, if you're going to stage a publicity stunt promoting your new book, TRY to make it a little less obvious.

I've heard that Costco treats their employees very well by retail standards, both with regards to pay and benefits.

So I can see why the right-wingers would hate them.

That's Wankel, and technically it's not a rotary engine, even though it's always called that.

you can protest chik-fil-a and Oreo's or anyone you wish, you can also stand behind them in support. If you are a government official you can't discriminate against them and tell them they are not welcome in your town because of they're beliefs.

When did Costco start selling E. Coli?

I protest Oreo's not because they're gay friendly but because they are shiat and if you eat too much shiat you'll die.
