I'm sure they had boys take paternity tests and made them leave school if they were the father, right? RIGHT?!

/they'll all be 18, 20, 25 by the time they graduate 8th grade anyway
//louisiana...where was F*ckabee's god while he was having gastric fat-ass surgery?

You do realize that Huckabee was governor of Arkansas, not Louisiana?

In Louisiana you can buy Daiquiris from a drive thru window.

NEED IT.

Oh, we feel superior all right, but trust us: it ain't because of geographical location.

Let me guess... the girls MIGHT attempt to created a false negative with someone else's urine, so they must be directly witnessed pissing onto the stick by a teacher (probably male) to "prevent fraud" (read: ensure that teacher with piss fetish and lolita complex gets his jollies... and teach girls early that moral oppression is something to get used to).

Let's face it, this policy was created with the sole purpose of being abused.

WhippingBoy: CapeFearCadaver: I have to ask... what about the school boys who knock these girls up?

In actuality, it's probably their uncles or the older guys that they meet at the mall that are doing the knockin' up.

Hey, just because you weren't getting any in high school doesn't mean that the popular boys weren't :p

Actually, the only girl I knew who got pregnant in my high school was in most of my AP classes... and so was her boyfriend. Cutest little geek couple evar.

/except that he ended up killing himself in their back yard last year :(

This.

I mean, I can see how they arrived at this - pregnancy is a very visible, very outward sign of sexual activity that you can't possibly mistake for anything else once the girls reach late term, and boys never develop visible signs of paternity. Doesn't make it right, but it at least makes a degree of sense.

heavymetal: The hidden agenda behind the GOP's attack on public schools and the enthusiasm behind charter schools (not that all charter schools are bad), it allows them to better enact their social engineering plans on the youth without oversight. Especially those whose parents are not part of the "conservative cult". They basically want to create conservative madrasas and then slowly destroy the public schools to where children have no choice.

Pretty much this. The best thing is that the only people that will be pushed out of these Republican programs are sycophantic retards that know nothing except how to scream when confronted with someone who knows what they're talking about. It'll be a world full of Bob Jones University types who stare blankly when something falls out of their predetermined schema. All this Republican takeover of education will result in is a loss of superpower status since nobody will know how to do anything except squeal for Jesus.

An example of Louisiana Charter Schools and how much better they are run...

Because not fixing the fire alarm, smoke detectors, door locks and not paying your electricity bill are a fine example of good christian conservative free market values.

Thank God Bobby has the good sense to destroy the public education system where he got a such a crappy education he is on the shorts list for VPOTUS.

Yep. I've worked with/around charter schools. There are some good ones, but damn there's a lot of corruption. One charter leader in Philadelphia just got indicted to the tune of several million dollars, and one of her co-leaders committed suicide before the feds could bust him.

You do realize Louisiana is a red state right? And that this change they've made is a good thing? Then quit bulls#itting.

The only reason they made the school change it is that the school got caught. I'm sure that if no one had brought it to the attention of the rest of the public, the school would still be doing it and the state would not say a word.

..
An just 72 hours before this the ACLU filed suite to overturn the law that makes it illegal for politicians to trade on insider information. For every one good thing the ACLU does it seems to be offset by ten douchebaggery things like this.

That bill requires federal employees to post detailed personal information about their financial activity online. It would subject more than 28,000 people to the risk of identity theft.

Try again.

Also, the bill is really ineffective. There's no actual loss to trashing it.

Their policy does not discriminate based on gender. Any boys found to be pregnant will be asked to leave school also.
