i'm sure she left the show because of her son, and not because she's been overshadowed by howard and she can't stand not being the center of attention.

I watched the "Osbournes' reality(?) show and it had its moments. Parts were funny, the feud with the neighbors and the Osbournes throwing crap into their yard were some highlights. Parts were scary, Jack in his mid teens, has a much older and kind of scary I'm-your-son's-manipulative-junkie/pusher-older-buddy friend staying with them and neither parents knew who this guy was or seemed to care. And other parts were really sad, how many people pretended to be friends just to get something from the Osbournes, 5 minutes of fame, money, help with a music career, etc. The really sad parts were all the scenes of drug abuse, alcoholism, and lying that was filmed. Makes you wonder how any of the kids survived childhood and what their futures are going to be like. Yes, Ozzy made a lot of money but the kids don't seem to know the value of a dollar or have Sharon's business sense and once those two are gone I think reality is going to kick the kids in the teeth. Hopefully, they have some kind of trust funds set up for them.

we required all potential participants to undergo medical vetting to ensure that they could safely participate. Although we did not ask Jack to participate in the competition, we were able to offer him two substantial alternative roles on the show, both of which he declined. This network does not discriminate on any basis."

Except that it discriminates on medical basis.

Glad it was the Boobies. We don't need any more speculation or discussion. Guaranteed that's the reason.

So has Sharon sent her usual gift boxes to some NBC executives yet? She has a penchant for sending Tiffany jewelry boxes containing her own feces, to people whom she believes disrespected her or her family.

Stay classy, Sharon.

I hate doing this but I'm going to have to side with NBC on this one. (Fark you NBC) With MS he really shouldn't be doing shows like this one. It seems like it's going to be quite physical If I were a producer there's no way in hell I'd give the go ahead to hire him. It's just too risky.

@I am Wee Todd Ed I hold out hope for the oldest sister. The fact that she said screw you I'm not doing the show to her parents makes me think she might have a brain in her head.

I know Ozzy has a much older son who grew up across the pond and there was a third kid he had with Sharon but she didn't want to be on the show or in public much. But good for her for being her own person.

I watch too much reality t.v. and I sometimes think that for every hour of reality tv someone watches they lose some higher cognitive function. For instance, I feel like I'm slowly forgetting how to do basic math. $2,731.00 - $2,640 = potato?!? I kid you not, it took me about 30 seconds to figure out what formula to use to figure out how much fiananical aid I had available, $2,731, and how much I owed for the fall semester, $2,640, and what the difference was.

Or maybe I'm losing brain cells due to having to listen to my female co-workers go on and on about how awesome the 50 Shades of Grey book series is.

Posted this in the other thread but meant to post it here...

I wasn't aware that Jack had been diagnosed with MS. That's pretty shiatty.

That being said, Sharon should be angry with Jack, not with NBC. They offered him two other roles and he turned them both down. He can't get what he wants due to safety concerns. That might have something to do with the production's insurance. It's not uncommon.

Jack turns down two other offers. Sharon leaves (or threatens to leave) over it. Now they're both acting like petulant children.

I suspect that the network would claim they're still not discriminating because they still offered him a "sizeable role" within the show...just not as a contestant.

F42: This network does not discriminate on any basis."

Except that it discriminates on medical basis.

That's called puffery (perfectly legal exaggeration or simplification for salesmanship). It isn't technically correct on its own as a complete sentence, but it is correct as a short-hand for "This network does not discriminate on any basis that is contrary to the law and commonly accepted practice."

NBC doesn't let men use the ladies' toilets at their headquarters and studios. That is discrimination; it's also perfectly legal. To the extent that NBC or its subsidiaries like NBC Productions and NBC News hire actors, they hire those whom the casting director and/or his superiors would be best for the role in the eyes of the audience. Tom Hanks has two Oscars as an actor, but if the role calls for a young man or a woman, then a young man or a woman will be hired even if he or she has little or no acting experience or skill. Again, that is perfectly legal, although it is age discrimination or sexual discrimination, respectively. Assuming there are no "reasonable accommodations" that would permit an MS gimp to safely participate as a contestant, then the network and the production company are fine vis-a-vis ADA. NBC usually does not allow The Tonight Show to have only male guests on a given night, as that would be a sausagefest and not conducive to ratings, so they insist that at least one female guest is included each night -- discriminatory, but perfectly legal and well within industry norms. I suspect that the network also prefers not to have epileptics and narcoleptics drive the company's shuttle buses and courtesy cars.

As an occupational therapist, I understand why Jack was not allowed to participate in the show. Depending on the type of MS he has, extreme physical exertion should be avoided. That will only worsen his condition and he could end up in a wheelchair sooner rather than later. But Fark NBC, he might have consulted his doctor and the doctor could have said "go ahead" or "no" and Jack might have gone against medical advice and NBC still might have been too scared to include him.

2012-08-07 05:22:28 PM
Jack actually grew up to be a pretty decent guy. He made a documentary on his father called "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" that attempted to reclaim the dignity lost through the reality show and it was quite moving. He is not only clean and sober, but is the inspiration for Ozzy's sobriety as well.

Sharon on the other hand, is still a juvenile nasty biatch.

And once they have to disclose to the insurance company covering the show that he has MS, the cost to cover him for this type of show, if they could get insurance on him at all, would have gone through the roof. He, and his mother, are just going to have to face the fact that there are going to be types of shows he won't be allowed to do anymore.

And by the way, I though he had AIDS.

Bordin had been very loyal to Ozzy. He did all the shows that were asked (at the expense of a possible Faith No More Reunion (w/o Martin)..Then he said he was obligated under his contract to re-record the drum parts or the first 2 albums....(this is where Sharon dicked Bob and Lee out of royalties)...Mike asked Oz to have someone else do the re-records because he felt it was wrong. Oz said that he would have someone else do them. Sharon said if you don't then he is in violation of his contract.

After the session Sharon fired Bordin after the next tour to find someone who wouldn't speak up.

Osbournes--it's not like you need money. Do something awesome. You don't even have to answer to anybody in order to get funding for it. You can do anything you want. Just go--knock it out.

And sadly, this is all they do.

Bob Greenblatt? The same Bob Greenblatt that told reporters that conversations with Dan Harmon "are happening as we speak"?

or

"I except Dan's voice to be a part of this show somehow, I'm just not sure if that means him running it day-to-day or consulting on it."

To which Harmon responded:

"I think he meant to say he's sure cookies are yummy, because he's never called me once in the entire duration of his employment at NBC."

Yeah not hard to figure out which person in this current incident is full of shiat.
