I love a GUI that looks like it was designed by, and for, a toddler.

I feel the same way about the iphone, iphone and ipad... their interfaces are getting dated extremely fast too.

My wife has a mango phone, I have a Galaxy S3... we both used to have iphones.

You're going to have to be more specific, you just described all cell phones operating systems.

If WP8 can operate entirely without need of a Windows PC or a Mac, I'll probably get one.

I would go back to Android if only Google would bribe whoever they need to bribe to get Civilization ported to Android.

Thinking they just need to get Valve to add a little pressure. Valve's already looking at turning Steam into more than a social storefront on Android. One domino has to fall to start that chain reaction.

Having used iPhones since they were released, and occasionally an Android or two, I happen to enjoy using my Windows 7.5 "Mango" phone. It's fast and easy to use.

Lack of quality commercial apps can be a little frustrating.

Lack of good selection of hardware, accessories is bothersome.

Already eligible for an upgrade, it's looking like I will go with the newest iPhone. Unless Windows 8 phones display a plethora of new high-end apps.

Look Apple fanbois, it may have a shiatty GUI, but at least it runs youtube videos and it's sporting a never before seen shade of yellow. The iphone is only black and white - amateurs...

Also before you Andoid dillholes start fapping just yet, this new Windows 8 Phone will crush all those Droids faster then a Jawa sandcrawler...

After Microsoft recently shipped their flagship phone (knowing full well they never intended to offer OS updates for it) yet intentionally keeping their customers in the dark, you'd have to be an absolute retard to buy a phone from a company with these sorts of "screw the customer" policies.

Yeah, let's pretend it's a leak, and not authorized by either company. With all the hype for the S3 and the next iPhone, they felt the need to remind us that they're still around.

There are DOS emulators for Android (DosBox being an example) which will theoretically allow you to play Civ 1/2/3...

I say theoretically as I've never actually tried to do so; I have no idea how challenging it actually is to turn theory into practice.

Exactly! Unlike Apple with iPhone 4s.

Exactly! Because unlike every other Apple phone or Google Nexus phone, the iPhone 4s will never receive years of free OS updates!

Pretty much this. I bought a Lumia 900. Fortunately I was still in the 30-day return period when they announced there would be no upgrade to WP8, so I returned it for a refund.

It's a shame. I liked the phone. Needed a better processor and some of the bugs worked out of the software, but it was still a fairly nice phone. But no way I'd buy from them again.

I think the point that he was making is that the OS may be updated but key features introduced later will likely be missing.

That's funny.

I think the point is that Microsoft's flagship phone will never receive a single major software update.

Microsoft knew this would be the case when they introduced their brand new flagship phone only months ago. They chose to hide this fact from the valued customers suckers who bought it.

This is something that has never and would never happen to a customer who bought Apple or Google's flagship phones.

Yeah. I want CivRev specifically. I want something I can play for a few turns while I'm waiting in line or laying in bed, y'know? Full Civilization requires too much of a time commitment when you've got a busy job and a one year old. :)

This is a lie. They will receive 7.8. 7.8 will be a major update.

Apple's doing this with iOS 6, and Google has been doing it forever with Android. Just go ask an an Android user what version they're running sometime. Very few of them will be running the latest release. I've owned my WP7 phone for a while, so maybe I don't have much to be angry over, but I just don't see the big deal.

Your statements are so confusing. 7.8 is not a major update; it won't even run WM8 apps. iOS 6 is a major update and there may be a feature or two that older phones won't get but they never discontinue major updates for a device that they just released. Google isn't the one that dictates updates, that's the carriers fault(and yours if you didn't get a Nexus device).

Getting a third tile size on the home screen is a major update?

Are those goal posts moving, or is it just me? So Apple gives out updates that "everybody gets", except for the features you don't get. And Android could get around the carrier issue if they truly wanted, so that doesn't count as an excuse.

There's going to be more to 7.8 than that, but believe what you want.

Or they are holding other features back because WP7.8 features will also be WP8 features that they don't want to reveal yet.
