ExperianScaresCthulhu: elgripe: Also Leave Me Alone could be his best video and considering the quality of his videos, that says something.

That video cemented me as a fan - I realized that he was in on the joke, and it became ok.

speaking of 'in on the joke'... i really wish the 'Liberian Girl' video had been worthy of the topic of the song :( as it was, it was a waste of time. yeah, great, bunch of random cameos of people who feel self-important because they're in a MJ video. or the joke was that they were in on the joke, too.

I'd rather it had been like the 'Remember the Time' video... if you're going to put that many stars in a video, do it right. 'Remember the Time' did it right. save that other mess for something else, not Liberian Girl.

Very true, but as awful as the execution of the video is, I really enjoy it now, in retrospect, as a time capsule. Watching it takes me back to 1989 as if it was a time machine.

jackiepaper: This song is just six words long

Ugh, me and my husband had a mixture of the original and This Song is Just Six words long stuck in our heads a couple of months ago for about 2 weeks. It was pretty tortuous.
For some reason, the original kept coming on the radio and also playing in stores and stuff we went. It wouldn't go away.

Once it's in your head for a few days nonstop you consider bashing your head into a wall. :p

DKinMN: Singers are musicians. Arguably, so are dancers.

You would have to argue awfully hard to turn a dancer into a musician.
I am pretty sure that they would be considered performers.
Except maybe tapdancers & even that's stretching it.

I don't think tapping is stretching it at all. It's clearly a rhythmic musical element.

"Bad" recently came up on my iPod shuffle. I had to skip to the next song after awhile; the chorus repeats like 20 times and"Bad" just takes forever to end.

bluorangefyre: All you young whippersnappers with your Lady Gaga albums can get off our lawn now.

/still think if he'd lived a tad bit longer, MJ would've called her weird

Actually I think I read someplace that he really wanted to work with her, even before she hit it big since he was aware of her talent........dunno, maybe he still would have called her weird with her antics, but I kinda doubt it.

He did attempt to work with her but his head got caught in a golf ball dimpler.
