What's sad is that this is being passed around in trendy left-wing circles as "homophobe sets himself on fire"....

Why can't everyone stop being so goddamn derpy?

Question for any Farkers with a GED in law:

If setting a cross on fire on a black family's yard is considered a federal hate crime, wouldn't this also fall into the same category? Granted the two acts are completely different, but one could argue that the intent was the same.

A big difference is that there is a long history of cross burnings tied to hate groups. Where the act is tied to direct intimidation of someone. While this is more free speech, like flag burning. After the fire everyone goes home.

Yeah, those assholes fighting for their own equal rights are just as annoying as the assholes trying to deny someone else equal rights and flipping out over cereal companies. "Stop state-sponsored discrimination fueled by religious views" is just as annoying as "Live your life according to my beliefs, even if you don't subscribe to them."

/doesn't agree with councilmen trying to ban Chik-fil-As though
