Judging someone based on their highschool report card? No thanks. He's got plenty other things to be criticized for, this isn't one of them.

/my 9th grade English teacher wrote that I was a source of constant distraction in the class and that I didn't take my academic studies seriously

Zalan: almost assuredly a fake, since it would say Romney, Willard (since that is his legal first name)

Really hope libs don't take the bait on this, but given that they're already in Sideboob Gazette, it seems it's too late. Really hope cons go, "See libtards? If Romney can show his high school report card, Fartbongo can release his transcripts - that is, if they can be translated from their native Indonesian."

I'd rather see his Schedule C than a whole rack of Cs on his report card.

s2s2s2: jayg22: Where is Obamas high school report card so we can compare the two?

The rub here, again, being the bad play of Obama. Obama wants tax returns, Mitt wants school records.
Obama can get the school records released, doesn't matter that he may not have them in his filing cabinet in the Oval Office. Once he has released all that is asked of him, Mitt has nothing to hide behind.

I support Obama for president. Doesn't mean he couldn't play this better. I don't think he owes it to us to release his school records, either. But in ANY situation where documents are withheld "what's he hiding?" is going to be the question.

How in the holy blue fark is this considered a bad play by Obama? Obama has already released 12 years of his tax returns, and been hounded for years that the birth certificates (unprecedented for any President to release publicly) were insufficient. By any reasonable count, Romney is down by two, at minimum. He needs to play a bit of "catch up" before he's in any position to demand new releases.

First published by the Boston Globe in 2007, so if it's a fake, we'd likely already know.

Also, having attended private school, if everyone (staff included) knew him as "Mitt", it's entirely possible they used that as his name on their documents. It's not like they'd confuse him with any of the other Mitts, right?

// went through 2 years of high school with my name misspelled on every document they gave me
// which was weird; I'd attended that school since 6th grade, and 11th was when the misspellings started

"He has had some trouble with Genetics"

I'd say his genetics have suited him just fine in the long run.

s2s2s2: More_Like_A_Stain: factual information that verifies Reid acted at Obama's command

I said nothing of Reid.

sprawl15's troll alt: Because he's using Reid to do the dirty work so he doesn't get his hands bloody. Which is tragic - Obama can call up Reid to tell him to lie about Romney, but he apparently can't be bothered to call up Reid and get a jobs bill passed.

That's a whole lot of nothing.

Obama is asking for info from others, while others are asking for info from him. What we want to see from Mitt is FAR more important.

Yes it is, especially when Mitt has demanded the same info from opponents in other races, and refused to release his own. It really does give the impression that he's hiding something really bad. And on top of that, his wife states that "you people have been given all you need to know", and that releasing any more info will be damaging to the campaign. Great way to sweep it under the rug there, Princess.

But, when asking for info from someone, it is wise to release what they are asking for, if it is something as innocuous as school records.

But if it's something important like tax records that could answer real questions regarding the candidates business dealings when those same dealings are an integral part of the campaign, well fark 'em.

We are certain that Obama can be proud of his school history, right? So show how awesome it is, and they are left with their excuses for Mitt with nothing left to ask of Obama, regarding his past.

Let's reach a point of parity before we start making any more ridiculous demands.

I hate the guy, but count me in the 'who the fark cares'/'fake' category. My high school teachers would probably have said "Lacks respect for authority, but has potential to succeed in this greed farking driven corporate hellhole of a world"

Seeing as his English teacher was a complete moron, how can we expect him to do any better?

Wait, so there was a time when teachers could actually issue comments regarding the progress of the students and how to improve?

If a teacher said those things now the teacher, the principal, and the school district would all be sued for implying that someone's snowflake wasn't trying their hardest.

Ridiculous. I'm a completely different person as an adult than I was in high school, so based on just my experience, this is completely irrelevant.

FTA: Those interested in comparing the presidential candidates' early academic records will be disappointed, however.

President Obama attended Punahou School in Honolulu and graduated in 1979, but his transcripts have not been released.

If President Obama releases his high school records, will Romney release his federal income tax returns then?

Sgygus: This is the first thing I've seen about Mittens that makes him seem likable.

Certainly it looks like my report cards. I showed "great promise" also. Luckily, I was smart enough to get decent grades without actually straining too hard to do the work, and I knew how to game the system. In 11th grade, in NYS at the time if you were going for a "Regents Diploma" you took the English Regents test, and your grade for the year was either your class grade, or your score on the Regents. I got a 54 in English that year because I knew that I'd do well on the Regents, so I didn't do most of the homework. I got a 92 on the Regents, so that was my grade that year.

They subsequently changed the requirements years later so that you had to be passing the class in order to take the Regents exam, probably because of people like me.
