This is the first thing I've seen about Mittens that makes him seem likable.

Judging someone based on their highschool report card? No thanks. He's got plenty other things to be criticized for, this isn't one of them.

/my 9th grade English teacher wrote that I was a source of constant distraction in the class and that I didn't take my academic studies seriously

2012-08-07 06:57:07 AM
It is not possible for me to give less of a crap about this.

2012-08-07 07:18:29 AM
Two things: who cares, and probably fake.

2012-08-07 07:34:03 AM
I'd rather see his Schedule C than a whole rack of Cs on his report card.

Lurking Fear: Two things: who cares, and probably fake.

probably? you mean his name isn't really "mitt"?

2012-08-07 08:11:29 AM
almost assuredly a fake, since it would say Romney, Willard (since that is his legal first name)

2012-08-07 08:21:43 AM
I think this means "President" Baggin Saggin Barry Blowbama has to release all of his kindergarten macaroni artwork, right?

"He has had some trouble with Genetics"

I'd say his genetics have suited him just fine in the long run.

Sgygus: This is the first thing I've seen about Mittens that makes him seem likable.

Certainly it looks like my report cards. I showed "great promise" also. Luckily, I was smart enough to get decent grades without actually straining too hard to do the work, and I knew how to game the system. In 11th grade, in NYS at the time if you were going for a "Regents Diploma" you took the English Regents test, and your grade for the year was either your class grade, or your score on the Regents. I got a 54 in English that year because I knew that I'd do well on the Regents, so I didn't do most of the homework. I got a 92 on the Regents, so that was my grade that year.

They subsequently changed the requirements years later so that you had to be passing the class in order to take the Regents exam, probably because of people like me.

FTA: Those interested in comparing the presidential candidates' early academic records will be disappointed, however.

President Obama attended Punahou School in Honolulu and graduated in 1979, but his transcripts have not been released.

If President Obama releases his high school records, will Romney release his federal income tax returns then?

2012-08-07 09:16:13 AM
So..... Mitt was a typical high-school teenager.

Okay then.

Bloody William: It is not possible for me to give less of a crap about this.

It's not News, yada yada yada.

//so...why the hell am I posting in this thread??

But I know something about you, Mitt went to Cranbrook that's a private school.

2012-08-07 09:21:23 AM
Ridiculous. I'm a completely different person as an adult than I was in high school, so based on just my experience, this is completely irrelevant.

2012-08-07 09:22:32 AM
What was his grade in Sport?

2012-08-07 09:25:07 AM
As someone planning on voting for Obama again, I ask "Who cares?"

I thought he claimed he's a hard worker. Evaluations indicate otherwise

This.

Really hope libs don't take the bait on this, but given that they're already in Sideboob Gazette, it seems it's too late. Really hope cons go, "See libtards? If Romney can show his high school report card, Fartbongo can release his transcripts - that is, if they can be translated from their native Indonesian."

First published by the Boston Globe in 2007, so if it's a fake, we'd likely already know.

Also, having attended private school, if everyone (staff included) knew him as "Mitt", it's entirely possible they used that as his name on their documents. It's not like they'd confuse him with any of the other Mitts, right?

// went through 2 years of high school with my name misspelled on every document they gave me
// which was weird; I'd attended that school since 6th grade, and 11th was when the misspellings started

2012-08-07 09:27:51 AM
See, both sides are bad. No why don't you f*cks vote Republican already?

2012-08-07 09:32:49 AM
"He has some trouble with Genetics."

He does seem a little autistic to me, too.

Freestyle rap battle with Eminem to decide the election. If Mitt wins he gets to be President. If Em wins he gets to move out of the trailer.

Wait, so there was a time when teachers could actually issue comments regarding the progress of the students and how to improve?

If a teacher said those things now the teacher, the principal, and the school district would all be sued for implying that someone's snowflake wasn't trying their hardest.

Seeing as his English teacher was a complete moron, how can we expect him to do any better?

His English teacher went on to be a regular contributor to the Bleacher Report, where she writes articles that are good, but not too too good.

The rub here, again, being the bad play of Obama. Obama wants tax returns, Mitt wants school records.
Obama can get the school records released, doesn't matter that he may not have them in his filing cabinet in the Oval Office. Once he has released all that is asked of him, Mitt has nothing to hide behind.

I support Obama for president. Doesn't mean he couldn't play this better. I don't think he owes it to us to release his school records, either. But in ANY situation where documents are withheld "what's he hiding?" is going to be the question.

Bait? This is merely a cute sideline, showing Mitt as a typical high school teen with his report card. Basically, this is a human interest story, nothing more.

I'm more concerned about the Plastic Man Romney is today.

How in the holy blue fark is this considered a bad play by Obama? Obama has already released 12 years of his tax returns, and been hounded for years that the birth certificates (unprecedented for any President to release publicly) were insufficient. By any reasonable count, Romney is down by two, at minimum. He needs to play a bit of "catch up" before he's in any position to demand new releases.

The worst thing about the report card, to me, is a striking similarity to my own. I have something in common with Mitt :(

It's a private prep school largely for children of privilege. I attended the equivalent in my hometown. As a general rule, I can promise you that the private school teachers are much more worried about saying something "risky" about THOSE snowflakes.

They have no union. Their income is lower and there's no tenure. If a wealthy family...particularly one with a school wing already named after them or a powerful politician in the gene pool...wants a teacher's contract to be un-renewed, the teacher will be working on their resume by nightfall.

Having said that, I got plenty of similar "commented" report cards with "not working to potential" notes because you have to say something when not giving the snowflake an A. "Because he's average" won't cut it if your parents are paying the equivalent of Ivy League tuition for 6th grade Spanish.

I hate the guy, but count me in the 'who the fark cares'/'fake' category. My high school teachers would probably have said "Lacks respect for authority, but has potential to succeed in this greed farking driven corporate hellhole of a world"

Because he's using Reid to do the dirty work so he doesn't get his hands bloody. Which is tragic - Obama can call up Reid to tell him to lie about Romney, but he apparently can't be bothered to call up Reid and get a jobs bill passed. I mean, it's totally expected considering the four years of laziness we've seen so far, but the extent Obama will go to not do any productive work while playing dirty is always disturbing.

Why would you have to judge him on it? Why can't you just have a quick bit of fun looking at a bit of boring history from a famous person's past and then move on to something else?
