The organization is an embarrassment.

I was on the "re-sign Jose at all costs" bandwagon but eventually settled into the idea that the the contract he'd have to get would make no sense for a team that needed to rebuild. Now the team that gave him the contract is probably even more in rebuild mode than the Mets are. And a bigger joke of an organization.

Reyes is a fun player though. I do miss having him on my team. And by all accounts he's an awesome guy.

The only people that give a rats ass about that team OR its players are the folks that live in that neighborhood and have no place to park, and the local taxpayers that had several million dollars in tax money blatantly stolen.

Oh, and of course the repub....I mean, the business interests!

Gunny Highway: The organization is an embarrassment.

Organization might be the wrong word to use in that sentence.

Wow, nobody ever learns about Jeffrey Loria, huh? The shenanigans he's pulled (with Selig's help!) makes most of these Wall Street crooks look like the guy who slips a penny out of the 7-11 change holder when the clerk isn't looking.

As a Mets fan I'm not really missing Jose Reyes.

//paying him what, less than 1/25th of what Reyes is making?

So much this.

Reyes was my favorite player, and I was crushed to see him go. But I knew he probably wasn't worth that contract. And Tejada's been great.

Yeah, I'm not sorry to see him go given the difference in salary between him and Tejada. I'm just talking if money was no object.

Anybody have Showtime and watch The Franchise? I'd be interested in watching it, but not enough to get Showtime.
