One Bad Apple: My town has a "Beercade" the entire rear wall is old school coin ops. Moon Patrol, Joust, Russian Attack, etc etc
MaudlinMutantMollusk: I just spent a year repairing video games and pinball machines, so I'm getting a big kick out of the thought that I may have another career opportunity/it doesn't pay nearly enough, though
Skr: Game dens have been going strong for a while. Couches, Consoles, and Cheetos. Usually they have a traditional arcade and tabletop gaming section as well.
Superjoe: I finally went to Dave and Buster's in Tulsa tonight and God does it suck. Almost all of it is those crappy ticket games that really aren't particularly fun and don't pay out much in exchange for your money. If I wanted to do something like that I'd just go to the casino and have a chance to win actual money, which I value waaaaay more than those crappy tickets. The D and B in Rockville, MD is awesome though, and has way more video games. I guess it probably has to do with who owns the local franchise.
somemoron: MAME cabinets are fun, but they aren't the same. Still, when you want to play an old classic and no one has it...
ranak: If I ever win the lottery, i'm opening a place like this in my area.
asciibaron: cool, did you guys get the new Huey Lewis and the News record yet?
brewguy: I still like to go to the arcade a few towns over, but their quality isn't the greatest. They seem to have more malfunctioning machines than working ones. The next town over from that is opening a Dave and Busters soon. Games are a bit pricey but they have beer.As long as I can find a good pinball table in good working order, I am a happy man.Oh and skee-ball./Funhouse?!? AH HA HA HA HA!!!!
imontheinternet: [www.arcade-museum.com image 226x320]Step into the motherfarking thunderdome. I beat other kids so bad at this game, they'd cry and piss themselves.
CheekyMonkey: asciibaron: cool, did you guys get the new Huey Lewis and the News record yet?You might thing that's funny, but one of my programmers went to see Huey Lewis LAST NIGHT.\in concert, no less\\not at the Starbucks where one would assume he's working these days
penguinfark: somemoron: MAME cabinets are fun, but they aren't the same. Still, when you want to play an old classic and no one has it...I love my MAME cabinet, but I will still drop a quarter into Ms. Pacman when there's one available.
