The billionaire has also asked Romney to state publicly that Israeli-Palestinian peace talks are a waste of time because the Palestinians are unwilling to make peace, according to the sources-and he wants a firmer commitment from Romney to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, in what would be a de facto recognition of Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem. For his part, Romney has not said peace talks are a waste of time and has gone only partway on the embassy question, saying he would undertake the move in consultation with the Israeli government-a campaign promise other presidents have made. (Adelson has pressed Romney to pledge to move the embassy without consulting the Israeli government.)

I hate that people like this exist in the world.

Put Jonathan Pollard and Leonard Peltier in a ring.
Give them Sikh kirpans and let them duel to the death.
Two enter, one leaves.
The winner has to give the corpse of Soupy Sales a sponge bath.

Wealthy individuals trading political favors for piles of cash has been the standard for a long time. Only now SuperPACs seem to mean that you don't even have to try and hide it anymore. Thousandaires can't beat billionaires.

We need a piece on Romney bundler, J. Philip Rosen. "Mr. Rosen is also one of the key power brokers in the Israel business and political communities." Coverage on his is weak when they leave out things like how he thinks "This is, was, and will always be, a holy war."

Its a testament to how egregious Adelson is on how he is getting coverage. Theres others who are similar to Adelson that are backing Romney, but, yes, the news is generally weak on these things.

This is from "Justice for Jonathan Pollard". I cannot tell how accurate it is, but it does provide the alternative point of view. If this is accurate, I'd say it's time to let him go.

Not included on the list - all the spies we executed for treason and espionage.

Watch Joseph di Genova handle those "singled out/victim" talking points. Engel just repeats himself on the "singled out/victim" talking points. Meanwhile, di Genova covers Pollards damage, how hes never applied for parole, pollards exceptional crimes, etc. etc.
Full disclosure, Blitzer, the moderator, is an old AIPAC lobbyist. Joseph di Genova still hands this argument its ass.

Also, before you feel too sympathetic, Pollard also sold secrets to South Africa and tried on several occasions to sell to Pakistan. Over his time as a spy, he passed tens of thousands of documents. He also tried to pass data to an Australian intel officer, who reported him to the US.

Among the things he passed to Israel was a 10 volume manual detailing all of the US's global electronic surveillance networks.

When he was sentenced, the Prosecutor asked for a term of a number of years. However, the judge declined to accept that sentence because the SecDef wrote a memo demonstrating how damaging Pollard's spying was to US security.

And.. Shamai Leibowitz as an opposing example, was "jailed for leaking were wiretaps of Israeli embassy lobbying and hasbara activities against Iran" (20 months).

NY Times: Mr. Leibowitz, who declined to comment for this article, released the documents because of concerns about Israel's aggressive efforts to influence Congress and public opinion, and fears that Israel might strike nuclear facilities in Iran, a move he saw as potentially disastrous, according to Mr. Silverstein.

"I see him as an American patriot and a whistle-blower, and I'd like his actions to be seen in that context," Mr. Silverstein said. "What really concerned Shamai at the time was the possibility of an Israeli strike on Iran, which he thought would be damaging to both Israel and the United States."

At a fundraiser at Jerusalem's King David Hotel, he even introduced the candidate to the 50 or so donors in the room, according to two people present.

Couldn't have picked a more appropriate spot. Menachem Begin's organization, the Irgun, blew that hotel up in what was the largest terror attack to that date.

Netanyahu's party is a direct descendant of the Irgun. You can see where Bibi gets his terror techniques from. BTW, the state of Israel hands out medals to former members of the Irgun. So Israel doesn't repudiate the terror and violence that Begin and now Netanyahu metes out.

The plea bargain issue was further complicated by Pollard violating it even before sentencing was officially declared. He simply couldn't shut the fark up.

Jonathan Pollard: A Portrayal
A Defense Intelligence Agency video produced by the Threat Countermeasures Branch which encourages American government employees to overcome inhibitions and proactively report suspicious activities. Pollard should never have been hired or cleared for employment in naval intelligence. He had a clear record of telling people things like "Israel is my real home."

The material he stole at the direction of the Israelis was mostly concerned with Soviet affairs. The Israelis wanted it for barter with the Soviet government. He's lucky he wasn't given the death penalty.

If I was a political operative (and therefore had no integrity), I would create an ad pointing out Adelson's background with the casinos bring up the role of organized crime in the Vegas casinos.

I wouldn't say that Adelson was involved with organized crime, I would just lay out the facts:

Adelson made his money by running Vegas casinos.
Organized crime has historically been involved in running the Vegas casinos.

Let people make up their own minds. You know damn well the Right would do that to a Democrat.
