Cliff Yablonski cheers!

It's a good thing that Law and Order and CSI are the only live action TV shows I can tolerate watching.

2003-11-18 01:36:21 PM
Better that than half of it being that mind-rot they call "reality tv", like Survivor and The Bachelor.

2003-11-18 01:37:10 PM
Scrubs > all.

"When you have a hole, you plug it with your best stuff," NBC entertainment president Jeff Zucker says.

A perfectly reasonable practice that I endorse completely.

Canceling my TV subscription: Best move all year.

2003-11-18 01:57:44 PM
Meh. TV execs cancel all the good shows. "Firefly" anyone?

2003-11-18 01:57:51 PM
Aren't people sick of Law & Order yet ??

how many times can you see the same story reworked and still be entertained ?

2003-11-18 01:58:42 PM
A good week of TV is expected. Law & Order and CSI is better than some of the other shiat that is usually on.

2003-11-18 01:59:25 PM
Give me Special Victims, baby. That Chris Meloni is so fine. I'd also do D'Onofrio just because it'd be weird.

1. Get lucky and make a popular TV show

2. Make infinite variations of same TV show since the rest on your network SUCK

3. Profit???

That's and yet they make it so good that I'd still watch it every week!

It's inevitable. Eventually:

All stores: Walmart
All restaurants: Starbucks
All computers: Microsoft
All radio: Clear Channel
All politics: Republican
All television: Law and Order

At that point, the world will end. So it is written, so it shall be done.

What I really want to see is all Hamtaro, all the time.

2003-11-18 02:01:37 PM
Can't remember the last time I watched a show on the big three networks.

2003-11-18 02:02:06 PM
Damn. I love Law & Order and CSI, but this is ridiculous. Further proof that networks are too afraid to take a chance of something different.

Oh, and RootBoy42, Firefly might have been different, but it stank. No offense, but Wheedon is not God.

"When you have a hole, you plug it with your best stuff," NBC entertainment president Jeff Zucker says.

I know I sure try to do this, but sometimes the hole is attached to someone I don't find all that attractive...

I, for one, welcome our new crime fighting overlords.

2003-11-18 02:03:42 PM
we need to have a relaxation of media ownership laws so we can see more shows like law and order and csi...talk about running a good thing into the ground

2003-11-18 02:04:06 PM
TV Execs cancel shows that don't make any money. Want to see less Bachelor, Survivor, General-Asshat-Does-A-Series-Of-Un-interesting-Things-With-A-Surprise-Twist reality shows, start a boycott or something to keep people from watching them.

Sorry...but money makes the TV go 'round.

2003-11-18 02:04:08 PM
This just in: 100% of all programming on MTV this week will be crap.

2003-11-18 02:04:43 PM
Where is Law & Order: Elevator Inspectors Unit?

2003-11-18 02:05:01 PM
The Simpsons is the ONLY decent show on the major networks. The only other networks worth watching are HBO and Comedy Central.

/Digital Cable = worth the $$$

Did someone tell Michael Jackson this BEFORE the cops swarmed his place too?

hmmm...I don't watch tv. I fear that humans are the closest to torpor that they can get when they watch tv. I'd say that during sleep you have more brain activity.

IMO

2003-11-18 02:07:43 PM
I would watch TV more if there was a Mr.Show channel.
*sigh*

2003-11-18 02:07:52 PM
Good. I love all of that series.
I'm convinced that by watching it, I too, can one day commit murder and get away with it.

2003-11-18 02:08:25 PM
Let me know if they do Law & Order: Undercover Vice Squad. Until then, my watch will remain stuck at "half-past give a shiat".

2003-11-18 02:08:54 PM
I like CSI, pretty good show.

But seriously, whoever cast Ice-T on Law n Order is a fark tard.

2003-11-18 02:08:59 PM
I wouldn't call this *that* asinine. Law and Order and CSI are infinitely better than the parade of increasingly retarded Reality Shows that the networks pass off as programming.

2003-11-18 02:09:01 PM
Well, NBC can plea down to Manslaughter 2... but they do the max.

2003-11-18 02:09:25 PM
When the supreme court level court room scenes became hard to find the the show was in decline.

2003-11-18 02:09:43 PM
Until pr0n goes prime time, I'm watching 24.

2003-11-18 02:10:16 PM
It's all about 24. Thank God it's Tuesday!

Of course, they ARE due for one of their month-long breaks. That's the only thing that sucks about a show that never has reruns.

2003-11-18 02:10:17 PM
The media, in coordination with the government, uses these shows to control the populace through subliminal messages. In effect, they are creating a zombie army. Instead of watching TV and being brainwashed, I am preparing a counteroffensive to the government zombie onslaught.

I agree with you there. Frankly, I'd rather keep my kids hooked up to a GameCube 14 hours a day than let them watch an hour of passive TV.

2003-11-18 02:10:22 PM
did someone mention TV being crap?

propaganda! get chor luvverly propaganda 'ere!

2003-11-18 02:10:29 PM
Everything MTV touches turns to shiat.

2003-11-18 02:11:08 PM
I actually watched CSI once.

God, what a bunch of garbage.

2003-11-18 02:14:13 PM
Half of all prime-time programming this week will be either an episode of Law and Order or CSI
Ummm...what is it now?

2003-11-18 02:15:21 PM
Well...give the people (i.e. me) what they/I want!

2003-11-18 02:15:30 PM
Last year I predicted a third CSI:
CSI: Seattle
Theme: "Can't Explain"
Lead: Don Cheadle

Anyone want to take bets?

Vincent D'Onofrio's character on Criminal Intent weirds me out... I hate TV characters that know a bit too much about everything.

2003-11-18 02:16:49 PM
I'm sure the ever clever and creative writing team of Law & Order will "create" an episode that will air in the next week or so that has an aloof and weird, possibly wacko, international recording star as the central figure. There will be acqusations of pedophilia and I'm sure someone will turn up dead for good measure.

How can people watch this crap?

Stay tuned...

2003-11-18 02:17:39 PM
Eh, since I don't watch Law and Order regularly, it's a good thing it's on so often, cause there's so much crap on tv, it'll at least entertain me if there's nothing on.

2003-11-18 02:17:50 PM
They are all great shows.

I played the CSI: Miami interactive thingy on CBS.com last night.

You play while the show is in progress, really rather cool.

/me
