I can't believe Friedkin's still alive, much less active.

It's a good, if seriously odd film.

Matthew McConaughey does a surprisingly good creepy psycho, and the reviewer is right - you will almost certainly never eat fried chicken again if you go and watch it.

Benny Golson approves.

It sounds like it's worth the price of admission just to see what "cable knit pubic hair" actually looks like.

Why would I not wait for Sundance Channel to show this movie so I can fap to it at home?

I like that it seems proud of it's NC-17 rating...

So many wimpier movies cut and cut until they're straight past R and down to PG-13.

Kudos to Friedkin's and the cast's balls.

Do yourself a favor and watch Frailty when you get the chance. You WON'T regret it.

Too little, too late for me. There are actors (Tom Cruise being a good example) I can't watch because I'm too distracted by their sucky acting. So I choose not to waste my time knowing I'll be unable to suspend my disbelief as soon as McConnaghey starts talking.

Which is a shame because I've heard good things about this movie.

Haven't seen it, but the descriptions I've read make it seem like a bona fide noir film. Not many of those out there.

Frailty was fairly mind-blowing for a few minutes...

Very good flick.

I'm trying my very best to find a place ot watch this, but no go, internet, theater, legally or otherwise...apparently it doesn't exist outside of a few select theatres. :-( This makes me sad.

I have wanted to see this for over a month and was pissed its not opening near me until this Friday! Oh well, I can wait a few more days, it will make a nice Saturday film after being hung over from seeing Merle Haggard.

It was awsome!

It just sucks for the rest of the country that does not get independent films. Try to find other great small films like Ruby Sparks and Celeste and Jim Forever. If you do not like in NYC you are SOL.

I think it's the distributor they have, althought I may be mistaken.
There's a newer distributor out where they take known filmmakers, give them a fairly low budget, then let them shoot what ever they want.

Insidious was their first flick, and they'll be putting out Rob Zombie's new one, giving him complete creative control.

Plus, the market has changed in the favor of NC-17 or unrated films, now that DVD, pay per view, and streaming generate as much, if not more than theatrical release.

As long as it's cheap enough, lots of companies don't really care anymore if it gets a nod of approval from the MPAA.

Babwa Wawa: I can't believe Friedkin's still alive, much less active.

He was barely 30 when "French Connection" came out, roughly the same age as Coppola, Spielberg, and Scorsese.

In that regard, he was kind of the last generation's Orson Welles. Had 2 great movies right away, then a lot of mediocre ones.

Of course, Welles probably didn't do anywhere close to the amount of cocaine Hurricane Billy did.

----------Spoiler ------------- Killer Joe orders lunch in a KFC and the cashier turns arounds and gives the money to someone collecting for Vacation Bible School.

It's going to expand next month. It's playing here on Sept. 21st, and that interview with Friedkin was awesome when he said that cutting it down to an R would be an insult to everything the movie stood for. Definitely catching this one.

Saw it last night. It's very good and very gonzo.

The 'fried chicken' scene is disturbing and uncomfortable, more because it echoes an earlier scene and for what happens immediately prior to it, re: Gina Gershon's face.

It's very Southern Gothic/Southern Noir with some of the dumbest characters committed to screen - and that's to the film's credit.

This sounds like my kind of flick.

Saw it last week and it was great. I'd hate to imagine living in a place where you have to rely on multiplexes for movies.
