Anything involving Uwe Boll.

Max Payne kicked ass. Yeah, it was in an over-the-top-action kind of way, but STILL.

Yes, but the trailer for it was misleading. It made it seem like the movie was going to have a supernatural angle

They had the decency to leave off the Super Mario Bros movie, but to include every Resident Evil movie except the first one? List fail.

I've seen about half of these on the list (None of 'em Uwe Boll) and I think their biggest problem is they are completely forgettable. I saw Max Payne, could not tell you a single thing abou the movie that I remember. Saw Doom, can only remember the FPS part. Couldn't tell you a single thing about any of the RE movies beyond the first, and I know I've seen them. I even remember downloading Dead or Alive (mainly for the eye candy) and don't remember anything except it was on a sunny resort.

Saw Prince of Persia, don't remember anything except something to do with a knife...maybe...or not.

10. Silent Hill (2006)

I actually like that movie. But I was young.

And who didn't love DOA??

Dunno. Silent Hill isn't that great a movie, but it's one of the better game-to-movie adaptations I've seen. I'm kinda looking forward to the sequel.

D.O.A. may have sucked pretty bad, but I'll be damned if that movie wasn't insanely entertaining.

Was that all of them? Are there even any released that weren't on the list?

Haha, they were showing DOA when I had free HBO weekend and DOA was on, I DVRd the volleyball part, just for the part where she does that little spin move.

Saw an alternative review of the Super Mario Brothers movie on Youtube which opened my mind. I went from 'this is dumb' to having a lot of respect for what they tried to do with the movie, trying to blend plausibility in the real world with faithfulness to all the elements of the video game. I wish I could find that review, again, because -- when viewed as flawed but faithful -- it actually works.

It is a movie that kind of stick with you after watching it. Although, I think more subtlety at the end would have been creepier. It went a bit over the top eventually.

Hell yes. Drop Silent Hill and insert this star-studded piece of crap at #1.

Yeah. Mortal Kombat #1 is the movie equivalent of the years in Smallville when the Martian Manhunter and the Justice Society were part of the plot. I don't know what happened with MKII :( My fave characters, but no effort was put into the special effects. I just ignore it, like The Quickening and IJ:Crystal Kingdom

I must be the only person on the planet that liked DOOM. Yes, it was a predictable popcorn flick. But as a geeky chick, I really appreciated that he wasn't going back for his girlfriend. He was going back for his sister.

Actually now that my mind has been refreshed, both Tekken and King of Fighters were released in the last couple of years, and were worse than anything on that list besides the Boll movies, which really are undisputedly the worst. And yeah, Dungeon Siege should be on here too

Didn't it also lack both Mars and a portal to Hell though? I mean, that's pretty much all there is to the plot of the games, that should be the easy part, really.

Torn: Legacy should be on the list as it is a bad movie based on a bad game based on a bad movie, which is kinda unique.

Or maybe that is why it isn't on the list. I got distracted after DOA.

Oh and...no Hitman?

2012-08-06 04:34:34 PM
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.... They made a movie about a video game.. Then they made a video game based on the movie.... at which point the universe almost divided by zero... but was saved by the fact that the movie and game both sucked ass.

I'm unfamiliar with this franchise, but if they're in any way based on Rip Torn, I desperately want to see/play them.

The Tekken move wasn't that bad. The fight scenes were decent, and you're never ever going to cast a better Eddie Gordo than that.

Keywork99: D.O.A. may have sucked pretty bad, but I'll be damned if that movie wasn't insanely entertaining.

Yep.

Happy Hours: What disturbs me most is that there are actually 10 movies inspired by videogames.

Think of all the remakes the creatively bankrupt hollywood could've made instead!

Allen. The end.: Anything involving Uwe Boll.

Postal was fun, and Far Cry, House of the Dead, In The Name of the King and Bloodrayne were so bad they were fun to watch. At least to me they were. Bloodrayne 1 couldn't even be redeemed with the awkward sex scene and the second was worse.

If Prince of Persia, Max Payne and Silent Hill are the worst movies you ever see, then that's pretty good.

Don't get me wrong here, I hated the fact they completely changed the story for the films.

But the first RE wasn't THAT bad in comparison to the other game-movie adaptations that have been released. I mean it's pretty bad when House of the Dead 2 premiered on SCI-FI and was better than the original. It was actually quite enjoyable to sit back and MST3k that biatch.

Are you posting from the future? Because it's 2012 where I live.

Who wins the Super Bowl this year?

-Silent Hill had the visuals, but it was a terrible mishmash in the story department.

-Prince of Persia may not have been a great tie-in, it wasn't a terrible movie. Still, casting fail.

-I'm avoiding Max Payne. I loved the first two games (haven't played 3...kinda hating the shift from noir), and Marky Mark ain't Max. If anyone should've played him, it should've been Dean Winters.

-I still dig the first RE. It's as cheesy as the first game. Not great, but compared to each new installment, it's an okay B-movie.

-Doom lost me with the missing Hell angle, the shiatty extra chromosome crap, and the brawl at the end. As long as I don't think of it as Doom, I can sit down and watch it if I've had enough beer and there's nothing else to watch.

-Street Fighter...no. I laughed my ass off at the Van Damme, wasn't up for another Hollywood abortion. Stick to the animated stuff (Animated Movie, SF2: V...skip Alpha and the US crap).

-DOA...nooope. Terrible casting, stupid story.

-Alone in the Dark...never played the games, but from what I've read about them, the movie had little if anything to do with them. I caught like fifteen minutes of the film and changed the channel.

-House of the Dead was the only movie I've ever rented where I stopped it after thirty mintues, went back to the video store, and returned it. It was terrible.

-Bloodrayne is one of those movies that you can tell is going to suck without having to watch it. Haven't bothered, not going to.

Honorable mention should go to King of Fighters.

Joshudan:
Oh and...no Hitman?

I will admit Hitman is a guilty pleasure of mine. I like the guy who played Agent 47 and thought he did a great job. Yes, the plot was flimsy, but the action was done well AND it had Olga Kurylenko's boobs and ass.

It's one of my "I'll turn on while I'm cleaning the house so I have some background noise" movies.

2012-08-06 04:43:28 PM
All of them?

mimg.ugo.com
Ok, maybe not all of them

2012-08-06 04:44:58 PM
Silent Hill: Still, it's a movie that strangely gets better with repeated viewings-if you can make it past the first round.

One of the "worst of all" in the last 10 years, but it grows on you? Who in the FARK makes a list like this?

And Silent Hill has a nice creepy vibe through the movie, not cinematic gold, but not one of the worst attempts lately.
