tommylikewingy: My predictions for the rest of the series -

Skyler will most definitely die, probably some time in the next few episodes. As someone said previously, the pool stunt sealed her fate. Walt will make it look like a suicide and nobody will question it. At first I was thinking hanging (dental floss around the finger scene as an obvious tip-off), but the pool has to be involved in some way. I think Walt will tie bricks to Skyler's feet and throw her in the pool.

Also, the ricin will make an appearance again at some point. I'm thinking that Hank starts to put 2 and 2 together regarding Walt's involvement in Gus' operation, and Walt realizes. Then Walt tries to poison Hank, and ends up poisoning Marie and his kids as well. This show has gone so dark in the past 2 seasons, and the only place they have left to go is the death of Walt's kids.

The creators have said that something happens this season that makes Walt completely irredeemable, that it will make the fans turn against him and make his transformation into bad guy complete. My money is that happening as the mid-season cliffhanger.

Also, did anybody else get the "sponsored by KFC" ad and immediately think of Gus?

I thought of an old Animaniacs episode. ''Welcome to Kentucky Fried Pigeon in your neck of the woods."

Don't know where that came from.

From the way he was talking about driving in the Charger I think he buys speeding in that car. Then Skylar blames Walt and threatens to turn him in, which leads to Mike killing her and that will take us back to Walt and the M60 machine gun in the first episode as Walt comes gunning for Mike.

Yeah...killing Skyler at this point if anything would be a redemption in the eyes of many, if not most, fans. It has to be someone, or something, else.

Mike will have to make Walt Jr. whole and get him a piece of bacon.

Mr. Chainsaw: Foxxinnia: So the deer Walt hit in the Aztek was actually the dog that Jesse killed right? And the watch is actually a cancer time bomb that will derail the meth train?

Am I getting this?

The "deer" was the drug dealer that Walt mowed down in the penultimate episode of season 3.

Just watched this with headphones on and noticed that the last couple ticks of Walt's new watch didn't so much tick as they "click-clack"ed like a gun being cocked. Don't think anyone else noticed this yet...

RatBomb: greybeard: Skylar is going to kill Walter.

I was just thinking, how long until she completely snaps/breaks down?

Walt made the mistake of marrying a crazy woman who clearly has NO friends and NO family members she can skulk off to be with should sh*t ever get real.

What in the holy hell ... I've had a few buddies hook up with these Mary No-Mate chicks. How does that happen where you know NO ONE and have NO FRIENDS?

2012-08-06 08:41:44 AM

NeoCortex42: I'm guessing the flash forward, birthday number 52, has Walt as the only living member of the White family. At that point, he'll have nothing left to lose.

And man Walt looks like sh*t for 51. I had to rewind the thing a bit to see the bacon number again.

Or maybe it's Bryan who looks like sh*t.

Either way, he looks like he's in his 60s.

2012-08-06 08:44:40 AM
Thinking back to the intro to S5E1, where Walt is celebrating his 52nd birthday at Denny's, I'm guessing something happens to Skyler and Walt takes his two kids into hiding in New Hampshire by buying himself that erase your identity and get out of jail free card he wanted in Season 4.

And then, he comes back to go all Scarface on everyone since the game's gotten out of control and he still wants to win it.

For such an action-free episode, this one had some amazing drama and one of the best Skyler scenes yet. Season 5 is going to go down in history as one of the best seasons a TV show has ever had, right up there with Season 4 of The Wire.

He's not going to kill Skylar. He may try, but he's going to kill Walt Jr.

Sorry for the late add, but watching "True Blood" and "Breaking Bad" back-to-back, and with events on the former show, I can see a bit of crossover with Walt and another product to supply.

Of course, it all cumulates towards:

2012-08-06 09:41:40 AM
Funny. Last week i said tha i could see Walt killing Skylar and either ....making it look like a suicide or by having her disappear so it looks like she just ran off. This would work because of her breakdown that Marie witnessed & knowing of her cheating. They could have chalked up the suicide to mental issues, stress, guilt etc.

Now this episode happens.

I think at some point Jesse and or Mike find out about the problems Skylar & Walt are having. Mike sees Lydia as a threat to the operation already, imagine what he will think about Skylar. Mike goes after Skylar to kill her but Walt intervenes and kills Mike.

ps - People, the cigarette was only a carrier for the ricin. Same as the wall outlet is right now.

2012-08-06 09:55:45 AM
I just realized the large gun from the opening scene of the season could be the same one shown in the background of the season poster. The poster definitely makes it look like Walt is at the top of the food chain for the meth business, but is completely alone.

This is what I said. But I think it is going to be Walt Jr. getting killed in a car accident speeding in the new car Walt bought him that sends Skylar over the edge. Mike finds out about her behavior and realizes it has become a problem and does what he always does with problems, takes care of them. Walt then takes his daughter and runs. The first episode of this season was a flash forward to Walt coming back to NM to even the score with Mike.

I'm just waiting to see where the ricin comes into play this season.

Lydia is probably the one who put it there. So she has no interest in removing it. Jesse is still mostly doing what he's told, and not improvising. So he'll just take Lydia's word for it at the time that they should abort the plan.

As someone who was with a girl like this I can tell you it usually comes down to 1 of 2 reasons, if not both.

1) Jealousy over looks, guys, etc.
2) Rumors

Mine was in the #1 category, gorgeous and extremely approachable she put off a lot of girls because of all the attention she did get.

That's pretty funny. That said, Jesse is far from "innocent." He straight up murdered Gale.

He went into a wicked downward spiral as a result, and he was basically being used as a pawn, but that doesn't make him innocent. He is certainly one of the more sympathetic characters on the show, but he's not innocent - no one really on this show is (real characters, not Captain Breakfast chomp), which is kind of the point of the show.

This.

Out of anyone, Hank is probably the most "innocent", but even he's done some messed up things. Beating up Jesse, treating Marie like shiat during his recovery from the shooting, putting a tracking device on Gus' car without a warrant, etc. That is part of what makes this show great. It shows different people's rationale on doing bad things for "good" reasons.

I think that in the flash forward we saw on Walt's 52nd birthday, his entire family is already dead. I think I'm in the minority - I used to root for Walt but I can't wait to see his demise at the hands of his own greed and lust for power. fark Walt. I think the end of this series is going to be Jesse vs Walt with Jesse as the victor.

I'm thinking that the fake ID means one of 2 things:

He entered the witness protection program (Told Hank whats going on because he is in a turf war with Gus' backers and lied about his role in the business )

or

He finally got enough money to take Saul up on his 'disappearance offer'. But Walter being Walter, instead of letting things go, he has one last score to settle which will be his ultimate demise.

You don't think that this end would be too cliche? The only thing that would be more cliche, IMHO, would be Hank taking out Walt. Considering how this season has already progressed, I have a feeling that Gilligan & Co. are going to come up with something *much* better than either of these two options.

When the DEA puts you in witness protection, they don't give you an M60.
