That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?
/ Hope this movie is good.

???

I thought 'Dumb & Dumbererer' WAS 'Dumb & Dumber 2'.

*goes to check IMDB*

Whoops. It was the prequel and doesn't have the number '2' in the title so I guess it's okay.

Though IIRC reviewers thought the prequel resembled #2.

2012-08-05 09:09:08 PM
Shouldn't it be dumb and dumbest?

2012-08-05 09:20:34 PM
I'm....cautiously optimistic about this.

2012-08-05 09:21:45 PM
However, co-star Jeff Daniels has now reportedly stated that Carrey is still interested in the project, providing that the script is good enough.

That made me laugh harder than anything in the movie, if it is made and I see it, probably would.

i remember back in the day loving jeff daniels, jim carrey, and the farrely brothers.. and subsequently being super excited for dumb and dumber.

then i remember not liking it much at all.

i've only seen it that one time, and lots of people seem to love it.. should i give it another chance?

2012-08-05 09:22:41 PM
Because sequels to comedies never suck.

It was actually kind of boring. It was no Kingpin or There's Something About Mary, both of which had me laughing my balls off, at least at the time.

The last time I was this excited for a movie was Phantom Menace. And it sucked. But I don't think this will suck. If they build it, I will come.

So, you're saying there's a chance?

You don't want to get Munson'd in the middle of nowhere, do you?

/Kingpin is, IMHO, the best of the Farrelly brother flicks.

Kingpin is probably the best Faralley brothers movie. Woody Harrelson played the best loser in the history of comedic cinema, and Bill Murray was outstanding in it.

I'd only watch it if it had "a rapist's wit".

Years ago I heard it was going to be Dumb, Dumber, and Really Stupid, with Carrey, Daniels, and Sandra Bollock. Maybe I imagined that while tripping balls though.

probably, never bothered with the prequel when I found out it didn't involve Carrey and Daniels and everything I've heard tells me I made the right choice. I'd probably give this one a shot though unless initial reviews are absolutely terrible.

Question posed: other than Airplane, are there ANY comedy sequels that don't suck?

And don't pull any cheats like 3 stooges shorts or looney tunes, seriously, has there ever been a sequel to a comedy that was good? I didn't take my kids to the Police Academy sequels because anyone was laughing.

The Dude wasn't really a loser. He was a man, of his times. Munson, he got a dictionary entry for being a loser that even an Amish person knew.

If this is successful, will it mean that Jim has fully reneged on his personal ban on sequels and that we can expect "Ace Ventura: Animal Magnetism"?

Airplane 2 was really only funny for the 15 minutes that Shatner was in it. The rest of the time they just rehashed the same jokes from the first one.

I hope at least 75% of this movie is Jeff Daniels with explosive diarrhea.

I can guarantee that 75% of this movie will be diarrhea. Have they learned nothing of trying to do a sequel way too long after the original? It's never good. 19 years later, Steven Spielberg thought putting Indy in a fridge would be a solid escape from certain doom.

Wayne's World 2 was pretty damn funny. Not as good as the original, but close.
