Uh...I think the takeaway here is that some people are looking for an excuse to biatch.

2012-08-05 09:20:28 AM
boo farking hoo. a couple of presidents ago, it wouldn't have been a bat in his hand while he was on the phone...

2012-08-05 09:25:46 AM
Yeah, I mean it's not like it's well-known that Obama is a big baseball fan or anything.

2012-08-05 09:25:54 AM
Hmmm...

"The photo reveals from whom our Prime Minister receives orders to rule the country," Metin Lutfi Baydar, an opposition politician for Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP) party, said in a statement.

Another CHP leader, party vice president Umut Oran, called the picture "an implicit insult to Turkey and its citizens" in Parliament, Reuters reports.

I think we can file this away under, "Horseshiat the opposition party will say no matter what." Good of the Daily News to blow it out of proportion.

There's really a stealth retardation aspect here. The outrage is that Obama is holding a baseball bat while on the phone with a foreign head of state.

The outrage is that he's doing something visually maybe-sort-of-kind-of-offensive while on the phone.

The outrage is that HE DOESN'T LOOK INOFFENSIVE ON THE PHONE.

2012-08-05 09:42:15 AM
Hey look! Turkish Republicans are whiny biatches, too!

2012-08-05 09:49:43 AM
If it had been a cricket bat he'd have locked tons of new immigrant votes.

This photo obviously portrays aggression and control over the subject on the other end of the phone line. WTF is this guys problem?!

2012-08-05 10:16:12 AM
I'm probably going about this all wrong, but how do they know who's on the other end of the line? It might be Michelle

Another day, another fake outrage. Boring.

A man becomes preeminent, he's expected to have enthusiasms. Enthusiasms, enthusiasms... What are mine? What draws my admiration? What is that which gives me joy? Baseball! A man stands alone at the plate. This is the time for what? For individual achievement. There he stands alone. But in the field, what? Part of a team. Teamwork... Looks, throws, catches, hustles. Part of one big team. Bats himself the live-long day, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and so on. If his team don't field... what is he? You follow me? No one. Sunny day, the stands are full of fans. What does he have to say? I'm goin' out there for myself. But... I get nowhere unless the team wins.

So, NOW is Sarah Palin automatically President and Obama has to be the bathroom attendant in Congress? These rules are so confusing.

2012-08-05 11:47:51 AM
Yeaaah, I'm in Turkey at the moment and there's not a log of outrage. Just some butthurt from opposition politicians trying to stir up sh*t.

2012-08-05 11:48:28 AM
Log, lot, you get the point.

I guess they have solved every other injustice in the world.

This is weak sauce even by Daily News standards. They may as well start running random pictures of Obama with captions that read, "He's a bad man!"

I noticed he was also black while on that phone call. WTF is that?

2012-08-05 12:42:12 PM
There should only be concern and outrage if he had a *cricket* bat in his hand.

no no they were yelling yoooooouuuuukkkk

OMG .... A black man with a stick.

assets.nydailynews.com

Seems like a good time to panic, if you ask me.

/Also, it's a black man on a black phone holding a white stick. This means something, I don't know what ....but it surely means something.

Obama killed a turkey with a baseball bat and we're just making jokes about it? Where's the outrage? President Palin would appoint turkeys to cabinet positions to avoid this sort of thing.

2012-08-05 01:11:53 PM
Why is this being reported as a failure of the Obama publicity team instead of a baseless faux outrage by some Turkish nut jobs with nothing better to whine about?

So, can we safely assume he was speaking softly?

Can someone explain to me WHY they're outraged? I mean, I get it, they're "outraged". It's just the opposing party trying to scream and yell to gain publicity. I understand it's completely a non-issue. But I would like to understand the internal logic here... What about this photo is so utterly offensive?

Is it cause he has a bat?

Where'd he get that bat? Did he get it from a helpless Little League kid? A white kid, who trusted him because he's supposedly our "President"? I'm just asking questions.

The freepers must be confused. On the one hand, Obama is being criticized. On the other hand, Muslims are upset. What to do, what to do.

Nope, full-sized bat, not a little league bat. Obviously he stole it from a stadium full of fans to deprive as many as 100k people at once of the simple joy of America's favorite pastime.

I bet the Turkish politicians that are outraged had a unexpected boost to their bank accounts recently.

See, I'm trying my damndest to understand the issue here and coming up short.
The only thing I can even remotely think of is perhaps holding a stick/rod/staff/whatever holds some sort of symbolism in Turkish culture.

Someone more knowledgeable on the subject help me out?

Turkey's Republican People's Party

Typical Republican behavior. Blame Obama for everything.

The take away from that photo is clearly,

"Now, go make me a TURKEY SAMMICH, BIATCHES!!!"

PC LOAD LETTER: So, NOW is Sarah Palin automatically President and Obama has to be the bathroom attendant in Congress? These rules are so confusing.

This means Sarah Palin is automatically President and Obama has to coach a team of plucky losers to an unlikely victory, and maybe, just maybe, learn a little something about himself.

That's good, because an outrage log sounds kinda icky
