If you use the word "aquanaut" enough it will mean something more than grad student with an overblown research grant.

I'm sure it's still true that you need human divers for this kind of thing. I'm also sure that in 20 years time, it will be all robots.

The descriptions of how the divers exploded in that were... Interesting.

I'm perfectly fine with volcano I'm currently using. My minions FINALLY got the WiFi to work in the torture chamber. I'm not going through that logistical b.s. again for a while.

Yeah, I mean you NEED WIFI down in the torture chamber so you can subject your victim to an endless loop of Rick Astley on Youtube..... No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE

This is why I'm going the underground lair route myself.

I'd prefer a spaceship as I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

The WIFI also makes it easier to hook up the web cam so he can deliver your demands to M once he has been broken.

I recently upgraded to an orbital station armed with a death ray, and I'd recommend it. Sure, you can't have a giant rock carving in the shape of your head on it, but you can get unlimited cable for the minions just by tapping into the comm satellites directly. Those anonymous suited mooks will lemming to their deaths at the hands of super agents a lot happier if they get Cinemax.

And you have the added awesome execution method of releasing them out the air lock when they have failed you for the last time.

Holy crap. I think the more amazing one was the guy who instantly gibbed. I've never heard of anyone actually getting gibbed before.

(at least, outside of bomb blasts)

Yeah, when I first stumbled upon that article and read about it I thought the same thing. Ugg, I could not imagine what the inside of that thing looked like after it happened.

How retarded it is to make something you can open up while under pressure if someones in it? if the door had to be pulled against the pressure it would have been impossible to open it. 9 bars is 130 psi.... unpossible for a human to open against if a door is 24" in diameter. nearly 60k lbs would be required to pull it open. If the door swings out.... well, you'd have guys shooting out it like a gooey cannonball if they loosened it up under pressure.

That thing has been putzing around for decades. I don't think they ever got a proper submarineologist to redesign it.

To be fair, there hasn't been much of a market for fast one man submarines.
There hasn't been much of an undersea lair market in general, for that matter.

Hopefully that may change soon.

I have to admit, heaving them into lava gets old after a while. Oh, and I the WiFi in because I have been thinking of moving the torture chamber closer to the lava pit and turning it into a new employee cafeteria. Its easier to get it set up now rather than later.

Saphie the Cat has need of a secret lair but I suspect that this undersea lair will not meet her specifications.

She will remain under the bed.

I'd like an instantaneous and painless death but a "semi-submersible, column-stabilised drilling rig" is a bit beyond my means. Maybe being thrown in a live volcano would work?
