HairBolus: I don't know how big the Oceanside Libraries are but when I visit a large library, say with several floors of stacks, it often takes a while to navigate to where a book is (what floor, what section, what row, what shelf) and the end stages often involves scanning a bunch of signs and book spines to narrow down the call number range.

A really cool ap would take a call number (somehow automatically from a catalog look up) and navigate you directly to the shelf where it should be found.

Now, that would be handy. Our local library's main branch in downtown Eugene has four floors, three of which have the stacks, DVDs, CDs, etc. (fourth floor has the meeting rooms).

Degenz: ArcadianRefugee: Degenz: I don't get it.

Now you can use your phone to access the "your are here" floor plans laid out on most floors.

You know, in case you're stupid.

/or your local gov't is and doesn't have such things

Fail is me.

Ah, okay. Thanks.

I don't even own one of those stupid phones and I never will. The farking idiots who use that app will fall in a manhole or get run over before they have a chance to go to the courthouse.

Relevant.

erewhon: Do hospitals. Please.

Here you go.

I used to work at a hospital campus so large, it had two zip codes. Over 3 million square feet. I would've killed for an indoor mapping app. Save me hours tracking down lost hospital execs.

People will do anything to get in Google's good graces.
It's like reverse lobbying or something.

Bend over and receive a 360 degree map of your rectum.

I hope they wrote in an anti-collision algorithm, so two people down run into each other trying to navigate the building while looking at their smartphone. ;)
