A year? Pffft. Amateurs.

That was true for me years ago, now I do my drinking at home. Cheaper and safer that way.

No I don't, the thing closes every night so I have to go home. I've never spent a year there.

Well done.Well done indeed.

Well I would spend the whole year there except they close at the end of the night.

Not sure. He/She was changing freeways when we called.

Well I used to work at one so that skews the numbers.

You forgot boring as hell. Going out drinking is as much about being in a social setting and having fun as it is about getting drunk.

At THE pub? Must be some pub.

Same here. I got sick of paying 5 times (or more) for bar liquor.

I call shenanigans. That's under 1.5% of their adult life. Anyone who's even a modderate drinker is going to spend more time than that at the pub.

Yes, I too mostly just weep over a whiskey glass, alone in a dark room these days.

It said "average drinker", not "average heavy drinker." This means the average of all people who do not intentionally abstain.

The older I get the more comfortable I become with my boring life. The crowds, the noise....meh. Hanging out with two or three neighbors while tossing a few back is plenty entertaining for me.

9 dollars for a 12oz bud light should be an executable offense.

Jesus. I pay 9 bucks for a twelver of Bud, 12 bucks for a twelver of Becks.

Where the hell do you pay that? $3.50 for a 23oz bud light or miller lite where I go, but I usually stick with a $23oz Sam Adams for $5.

In Superior Wisconsin, there's a bar that sells a 64 oz pitcher of Grain Belt Premium for $2.50 Totes worth it.

I gotta go back

Sucks.

once again I am above average,

has several bars within walking staggering distance from my house.

At a bar in Australia they were asking $9.oo for a miller light - because it was an import, I laughed

I have 50 bars within walking distance of my house and it is dangerous.

I have around 15 within walking distance but almost always go to the same bar. I used to bar hop when I first moved to town but found one I liked so there's really no reason to go to the others.

NARC! Kidding. I'd do the same. Don't start drinking unless you've made plans to be home safe. Side note- don't rely on your drunk buddies to get you home. Liable to wake up in a ditch with Sharpie drawings on you with pics.

I have a couple favorites I stick to.

That is either the best or worst thing that ever happened to me.

THIS was at a spring training game for the Angels in Tempe, and they wanted $12.50 for ONE BOTTLE of Corona.
I'm like WTF that's an 18 pack from circle k right there (Drink the cheap "ICE" beers they have higher alcohol count
in them 5-6% vs 4.2 for the light crap).

One pub in our village "The Chequers". It opens Thursday to Sunday.

This is lethal as it makes Thursday feel like Friday. The village has shifted to a "Localian" weekly calendar.

I highly recommend it but not if you ever want to get anything done on a Friday.

Our landlord is also a micro-brewer.

I live the dream!!

A year seem like an underestimation, before it'd closed I was putting at least an eighth of my life into the local one I'd frequented. Now that its gone all that's left are hipster pubs with wall to wall HDTVs, trendy micro brew swill, arrogant young professionals and not a single pool table in sight, booo.

What a waste.
