May had a baby.

I was suspecting that......wow....that's impressive, actually.

Didn't she have 2 babies?

I dunno, I wasn't there. Dammit.

I was wrong, Kerri has 2 children, Joseph & Sundance.

Walsh Jennings. She did a solid three minutes on how they were too small.

Okay, I know beach volleyball and these girls are popular, but this was a round-of-16 match, and they were whipping up on their opponents. Do they really need to devote so much time to them, when there were so many amazing things today?

2012-08-04 09:22:48 PM
Can someone explain how, if this is on tape-delay, they cut out the middle part of the match when they show commercials? Just extend it the Olympics show, and show it all. You can show TV until one in the morning one Saturday night, haven't you people ever heard of SNL?

Sometimes I forget that there's more to the olympics outside of beach volleyball and swimming.

I actually concur, but I've seen worse any given Sunday on the local beach. At least the top half of her asscrack wasn't hanging out.

If NBC had any sense they'd be showing her soon. Alas I suspect they won't show her until late tonight, if at all.

Blade runner has spikes. Cool.

BTW for anyone wondering why it's top 2 from each semi and then the top 2 times who didn't qualify, they instituted a A-standard qualification rule for the Olympics. Only those runners who get the A-standard time or better can run in the Olympics, so they didn't have enough runners to end up with four semifinals. Which brings up the issue of changing the format with semifinals themselves. And the A-standard thing is just stupid.

CSB:

In the early 1960s, my dad was a teacher/coach at a new high school, and they had to paint the lines on the track. They got the official track and field manual, that explained how to do it, with the staggered starting positions, etc. It was so complicated, they couldn't figure out how to do it.

So, my dad sat down and figured it out for himself. He realized it was a lot easier than the official method, so he sent his method to the track and field association.

They adopted his method.

I saw the completion of her competition this afternoon (thanks to a proxy program that let us get BBC online). Truly a popular athlete there in Britain. The next hour after that was a historic time for British Olympic competition as well.

Holy crap guys, he's moving away from it, but fricking youtube Curtis Martin's HOF speech. After the opening, he talks about growing up. It is the saddest acceptance speech I've ever heard. I mean the crowd is lucky not to be completely crying at this point.

Nvm, even at college age, this speech is still horribly depressing. More power to him for telling it all and bearing the whole thing.
