After several weeks I think the "prima" had worn off.

I had no problem understanding subby's headline. Years of working Ren Faire helped.

Apple squire: Pimp
Giglot: Loose woman.

The rest is easy.

You've got to be kidding me. I've been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

So you're saying you have plenty of experience deciphering mangled archaic grammar?

Yes. But I still can't understand a damn thing Australians say. They should learn English.

Am I the only one who thinks it ironic that an African-American is involved in White slavery? Also, beware of ice cream parlors.

Another blow against the job creators. With spitefulness like this the economy will take forever to get off the ground.

FTFA: All were charged with trafficking in persons, kidnapping, rape and promoting prostitution.

"Promoting?" First time I heard of that. I guess at some point it became a crime in itself to staple up ads of your fabulous whores among all the band fliers and used car offers. Coupons are now apparently out of the question, along with zany radio talk show contests -- "The lines are open, and the 11th caller gets a free beej courtesy of WFRK 98 and Motel 6!"

Oddly, in Japan where it's effectively legal I recall seeing discreet promotions of brothels. You could get coupons (clip 'n' save!) and the phone booths were littered with temptingly illustrated cards with phone numbers on them, and now and then you'd see pretty girls by the train stations passing out free packets of tissue paper with some brothel's ad printed on them. In Japan the invisible hand of the free market fondles you and even gives you something to wipe with afterward.

I suspect this story will turn out to be bullshiat, as most of this "human trafficking" stuff tends to.

I'd love to read a history of the "human trafficking" craze. My guess is that it started as a fad among journalists who found that sexual slavery stories sell like hotcakes (they do allow decent readers to be titillated while appearing outraged). The multitude of articles soon prompted demands from the public that something be done about the problem. They found politicians eager to help, partly because slavery is an easy issue that you can pound the lectern over and loudly condemn without offending any voters, but also because stopping "human trafficking" allows you to crack down on illegal immigration without looking like a Nazi.

I'm sure this is why it's spread so far internationally. Thanks to "human trafficking" any government can seal the borders and round up refugees with commandos while piously claiming concern for "human rights."
