Can't teach an old dog. From the Denver Post:

Bogunovich has a lengthy arrest record in the state, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, including multiple arrests for drugs and marijuana.

Drug arrests dating to 1980 include cases in the cities of Lakewood, Sheridan and Denver, as well as Adams and Arapahoe counties, according to CBI records. Recently, Bogunovich was arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and distribution in February 2010.

Easy pickens.

Take away business and personal rights from otherwise harmless people.
Take all their money and personal property legally.
Put them on the taxpayers dole in jail.
= Massive profit for police. (Err, For The Children!)

Yeeaahhh!!! +1 for the drug war! Put those old potheads in jail on our dime, and let them rot!

Interestingly enough, Bogunovich is Slavic for "Backyard Pot-growing Guy-ovich", or "The Village of The Guy Who Grows Pot in His Backyard".

Wow, I feel so much safer with this dangerous criminal off the streets!

2012-08-04 08:04:38 PM
Wow, yeah, he was reeeeeeeeeeally over the limit on cultivation and possession of usable plant material. If you're going to be doing that, at that scale, which is clearly outside of the limits the law has set up, why even get your MMJ card in the first place? It's just a waste of eighty-five bucks.

That being said, poor old dude doesn't deserve to be in jail.

Ending this pointless drug war would go a long way to restoring my faith in and respect for police.

Did they find him in bed surrounded by nekkid 19 year old hos, weed, and cash? Was he wearing nothing but sunglasses and 127 gold chains?

That's how I see myself at 80-something.

So we have an 87farking year old guy,
living on his own,
supporting himself,
in his own house,
paying taxes,
And enjoying life.

Along come our Protection and Service Specialists,
and now he is in jail,
no longer a productive member of society,
without the personal freedoms he has lived long and well to deserve,
and, against his will, an expense to the taxpayer.

Can't put my finger on it, but something just does not seem right.

/this is not the way I want things run, dammitt

Eighty seven? Perhaps he thought he was growing pancakes or maybe he wasn't growing the weed at all and just took the fall for his grandkids or something. Odd.

80 was the time when the 'War on Drugs" started to kick in.
For crissake, he's a feeble old man growing weed, leave him alone.

My grandfather was murdered by his son for trying to get out of doing this, down in Roanoke VA.

I'm glad the cops seized his 400 plants. Getting those 300 plants off the streets will protect our kids. I mean, 200 pot plants going out there would have hooked a lot of kids on the wacky backy. 100 pot plants could have ended up creating a whole new generation of crackheads getting all hepped up on goofballs. Those 50 plants aren't going to hurt anyone now.

What does his age have to do with it? He was doing something blatantly against the law and got caught. How do you know his plants weren't going to be sold to others that might cause even more trouble?

It won't be long before they can no longer arrest people for weed in Colorado. They just want to get a few more in.

It sounds like a lot of people here appreciate how destructive drug prohbition is. The next step is to stop voting for people who support it.

Make it legal.
Lotsa folks grow it.
It gets way cheap.
Everyone who wants to try it, tries it.
Some find it's really not that big a deal.
Or just isn't for them.
Problem resolved.
(Retain penalties for doing things that are dangerous to others whilst under the influence.)
