When you went to the Olympics, you agreed to abide by certain rules. When you break said rules, the offended party has options.

Leaving the Olympic site without authorization is against the rules.

No, Subby, he was axed for breaking the rules.

Lorelle: No, Subby, he was axed for breaking the rules.

Exactly. He wasn't axed for sleeping with his wife, it was for leaving the Olympic Village, which is the rule for everybody. You can say the punishment is harsh, but not that he's been singled out. He did this to himself.

Yeah, I get he broke the rules... but what is the point of making the athletes stay in the Olympic Village? They're adults, aren't they?

Ok, I can see the ones that are under 18 or 21 or whatever... you have to have someone monitoring them.

But this dude is 36 and married. Let him do whatever he wants.

I think it is probably related to security issues. In 1972, Olympians were targeted and murdered by terrorists. Now, these terrorists broke into the village, which was made insanely secure after 72.

Maybe organizers are trying to prevent another Munich?

Olympians running around, unprotected, on the streets or coming and going at all times might be an irresistible temptation to terrorists and other assorted nutjobs.

On the one hand, it's an extreme punishment. On the other hand, you can live for two weeks without your wife, homie.

It's only a team rule he broke, not all teams have the same rules, hell some of the Americans don't even stay in the village

As I said, "I think". That explanation made the most sense to me

Maybe it's on the wife. She probably knows what goes on in Olympic villages and didn't give him much of a choice.

Oh, I know, was just clarifying it, the team rules just vary by quite a bit. Hell, our swimmers are supposed to adhere to a 11pm curfew, it's routinely broken. Some teams have rules about whether athletes are allowed to even have sex in the village (Brazil's team has the opposite rule, they are encouraged to have sex). All crap your team can kick you out for though

This has absolutely nothing to do with olympic rules. This is his country's olympic committee putting its own incredibly moronic rules on their athletes.

It's a team rule, a team punishment, and it's profoundly moronic. I'm with him on this one. If he stayed in the Olympic village, he could have had a shaitload of anonymous sex without anybody ever knowing. Instead, he chooses to fark his wife. One would think that that would be encouraged.

2012-08-04 04:00:30 PM
I remember the winter olympics here in utah - all the mormons was making a racket of their fears of athletes corrupting the young girls.

Trouble is that they're only gonna sleep with other olympic athletes. Well, or people working in the village. A farker mentioned in one thread that he was at Georgia or Georgia tech during Atlanta when they were using the dorms for the Olympic village, and a friend of his was working as a lifeguard at the pool. Apparently not many used swimsuits, orgies were common, and his friend (female, IIRC) refused to discuss if she partook.

So be an Olympic athlete, be a hot college student working in the Olympic village, or you have no chance.

Wellhung: I find the bathroom and it's dark. I'm feeling around for the toilet. I lift the lid.

Sweetheart: I'm waiting eagerly for your return.

Wellhung: I'm done going. I'm feeling around for the flush handle, but I can't find it. Uh-oh!

Sweetheart: What's the matter now?

Wellhung: I've realized that I've peed into your laundry hamper. Sorry again. I'm walking back to the bedroom now, blindly feeling my way.

Sweetheart: Mmm, yes. Come on.

Wellhung: OK, now I'm going to put my...you know ...thing...in your... you know...woman's thing.

Sweetheart: Yes! Do it, baby! Do it!

Wellhung: I'm touching your smooth butt. It feels so nice. I kiss your neck. Umm, I'm having a little trouble here.

Sweetheart: I'm moving my ass back and forth, moaning. I can't stand it another second! Slide in! Screw me now!

Wellhung: I'm flaccid.

He broke the rules yes, but i think a reprimand would have been more appropriate then pulling him from his event.

Munich '72 is the point.

Or maybe it was because of this?

'The NOC of St Kitts & Nevis has not seen or heard from Kim Collins for the last three days,' said the NOC's general secretary Alphonso Bridgewater. 'We are unaware of his whereabouts.'

I'm sorry, but no matter how many times I look at the dude, he doesn't look Jewish.

And you're saying the streets of London are unsafe and the security forces of the U.K. can't maintain a safe environment for the athletes and fans. Who are you, Mitt Romney?

Not all terrorists are muslims looking to kill Jews. The United Kingdom faced a long insurgency in Northern Ireland that lasted until 1998. Those terrorists killed a lot of people.

The part left out of the Daily Fail article:

It wasn't just that he was going off to see his wife. It's that he skipped training sessions and failed to even show up to his event's registration while he was doing it.

Given that one of his events was a relay, showing up to training sessions is pretty darn important.

If it will make things better I'll sleep with her.

/Just sayin

Reporter: Kim Collins, you retired back in 2009 but came back to run in the London Olympics. Now you have been dismissed from the team for being a bonehead. Can I get a comment on that?
Collins: They have a postage stamp with my picture on it! I have my own national day in my homeland! I carried the flag to represent my nation three times! I was only getting some nookie! The president of the Olympic committee of St Kitts is jealous because he's uglier than Rosie O'Donnell and hasn't be laid in five years! The sun was in my eyes! My dog ate my homework! It's a terrorist plot!

2012-08-04 09:10:59 PM
No sympathy for those who can't hold their act together long enough to make it through the Olympics, if you can't be arsed to follow a framework of rules and obligations for what amounts to a miniscule portion of your life, then you aren't worthy of the privilege of competing.

FTA: However, it could be possible his punishment is just exclusion for the 100m event as it has been reported he has still been entered in the 200m and 4x100m relay.

Fark that. If I'm not good enough to run the 100m just because I visited my wife, well, I'm probably not going to do you any favors in the 200m or 4x100m - even if I wanted to run them, the resulting drama has probably affected my game.

Heckuva job.

"They're asking me to abandon my wife for my team, it's not going to happen."

He couldn't wait a few days? if there was some mention of some kind of family emergency, then I could feel some sympathy. Otherwise, this "abandon my wife" stuff is bullshait. He's not the only athlete that's has to endure separation from a lover for a few days. I can't help but feel there's a lot more to this story.
