Brave isn't even close to the worldwide box office of Wall-e and Ratatouille.

Magic Mike 2: The studio is in talks with Chaning Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh about possible sequel and prequel ideas.

The project will get passed on to Christopher Nolan, who will begin work immediately on Magic Mike Rises.

Total Recall 2?

wtf.

Here's to hoping Total Recall bombs.

2012-08-04 02:34:51 PM
Also:

American Pie 5: The writers of "American Reunion" just got a production deal at Universal, which may turn into a fifth "American Pie" movie.

Good God, how many times can you make the same story over and over, you loathsome freaks?!

*sigh*

As long as moviegoers keep doing whippets with containers of Axe Body Spray, these movies will keep getting made.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2: There are definite plans for a sequel, but whether director Marc Webb will be able to get out of his Fox Searchlight obligations may determine whether he will be replaced.

They're making a Spider-Man movie without Webb? It's going to be the origin story all over again, isn't it?

MithrandirBooga: Total Recall 2?

I'm *seriously* doubting that'll happen.

Both Avengers and SPinder-Man were made with the expectation of sequels.

What about Batman 4 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

/Nolan completely left the door open for that one.

If this is starring the 22 year old Jeff Stryker I'm going to be the first in line.

I'm looking forward to "Jack Reacher" only to see my buddy Michael Raymond James in it.

Great guy.

I'm

seriously hoping that it WON'T,but Hollywood is too avaricious and stupid to leave well enough alone,naturally....

I'd be receptive to a Ted sequel with a proper script, though. That movie was far more hilarious than it had any right to be.

At this point I'm waiting for Hollywood to actually reboot a film franchise within the first movie of the series. You know, the movie starts, you get halfway through the origin story, then suddenly BAM, the movie gets rebooted right in the middle of itself.

A Ted sequel seems all but an inevitability at this point. The money it's pulling in?

It'll get sequelfied, easily.

blacksharpiemarker: Did I more or less sum up everyone's opinion?

No, because 21 Jump Street 2 (22 Jump Street?) could be little more than Channing Tatum saying "FARK YOU, SCIENCE" for two hours, and I would be greatly amused.

Don't mind me. I amuse easily.

Saw a preview for Lawless before TDKR... looked pretty good, but despite Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy, i probably wont see it because of Shia.

$9.2m Friday estimate makes it a sure bomb, considering its $125m+ budget. It'll have a hard time outgrossing the original, before adjusting for inflation.

If the overseas market doesn't turn up some serious coin, that sequel's COOKED.

From the trailers it didnt look that bad, sort of a generic sci-fi action flick. But its definitely unnecessary, and a sequel would be ever more so.

I don't mind them giving Bryan Cranston stuff to do, but he needs to choose better projects than this.

Thankfully, there's Argo comin' down the bend...

They already did an animated one, it was ok, but unlike live action, DCs animated movies have all been way better than Marvels.

I think after Ruffalos breakout performance though, well definitely see another standalone Hulk movie starring him, probably between Avengers 2 and 3.

He signed a 5 or 6 picture deal a while back. We'll probably see him in two standalone Hulk movies in addition to two more Avengers movies.

Probably, but I'm hoping Nolan got himself attached as producer on any future Batman films as part of his contract for the last couple. He was involved (in some fashion) with the new Superman movie, which may or may not suck.

The Naked Mile

That's the best movie out of the entire series, hands down. I believe it was produced intentionally to go straight-to-dvd, further padding Eugene Levy's already overflowing pockets.

/I wasted a dvd burning Band Camp, what a stupid movie

None of hose are terribly surprising. I think it's called the Highlander Rule. No matter how impossible a sequel may seem, if the movie makes enough money, it can happen.

Dwight_Yeast: Both Avengers and SPinder-Man were made with the expectation of sequels.

I think they're going for a reboot, not a sequel. And Jennifer Love Hewitt isn't really Batman material. The point was that anyone can be a hero (or Batman) but in practice, he doesn't have any of Bruce's money or training. They'll reboot a campier version so they can shoehorn him into a Justice League movie.

Almost. I'd definitely watch a 21 Jump Street sequel. I was genuinely surprised by how hilarious it is. Quite possibly the funniest movie I've seen in the last few years.

I hope so. A Nightwing movie will be fantastic, especially if most of the supporting cast comes back from The Dark Knight series.
