Dinki: So are we supposed to be outraged at this? Help us out here homophobemitter.

Subby's just mad because the gheys don't have to ride in a separate car.

It might surprise subby that gay and lesbian couples are also taxpayers.

2012-08-04 12:51:32 PM
DRTFA, but the idea that a government agency could manage to put together an entire ad campaign in two weeks in response to something is laughable. Coincidental, and hilarious.

I farking love Amtrak.

2012-08-04 12:59:54 PM
Wait. You mean to tell me that my money went toward trying to make a gay person feel welcome somewhere?! The horror!

Yup, now that the LGBT community is no longer eating at Chik-Fil-A, Amtrak is sure to see a rise in usage...what?

2012-08-04 01:08:40 PM
Huh.

It's almost as if the government doesn't subscribe to the bigoted beliefs of fringe religious groups.

Like there's a separation or something....

Relatively Obscure: Wait. You mean to tell me that my money went toward trying to make a gay person feel welcome somewhere?! The horror!

I'd prefer a more brutally honest ad campaign.

Amtrak: We don't care if you're gayi. You can ride us anytime!

What's so fabulous about trains?

2012-08-04 01:13:35 PM
Maybe if the article mentions how Amtrak is taxpayer-funded some more, I'll get mad. Last I checked, DOMA didn't read "The government shall never, under any circumstances, acknowledge the existence of homosexuals."

FTFA-
docwhocuts: "To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful & tyrannical."-Jefferson ...

Maybe he'll get a do-over and put something, anything, in the constitution forbidding the government from sticking a finger in controversy.

Yes, because nation-wide print campaigns targeting a specific demographic with highly stylized portrat photography are always knocked-out overnight. That's how graphic design works; we have a big button on our keyboards called "Farking Instant Magic and shiat."

2012-08-04 01:35:08 PM
Wow...lotsa bigotry and blatant hatred in the comments...but I'm not surprised...it's all in the name of defending Christian values, of course.

Connect the dots Sheeple! This is crypto-fascist Big Gay's America-destroying agenda.

What the fark does Chick-fil-A have to do with this story? I know the point was made in TFA...just seems like a complete non-sequitur.

Also, why is this a story at all?

2012-08-04 01:44:19 PM
It's right there in the Constitution: taxpayer funds are not to be used to forward the homosexual agenda

I had no idea it was possible to produce an ad campaign so quickly....unless of course there was absolutely no correlation.

2012-08-04 02:30:39 PM
How dare the government acknowledge and welcome segments of the population that some people have a problem with. It's as bad as those phone prompts for Spanish, or Mandarin or some other Un-American place...

For all we know, they could have started this when they saw JC Penny or Oreo do the same thing, which was pre-Chick-a-whatever.

They've been planning this for decades. It's on Page 27 of The Gay Agenda, right above the part about getting Rick Santorum to marry his dog.

Thank you, thank you. All I did was put the last line first and then the first line last. Add the quotes for paranoia and substitute strange tag for stupid tag. Voila - green.

I have no problem coming out....as the submitter....

What does the taxpayer funded interstate highway system have to say about this?

How would you feel if Amtrak put up an ad targeting born-again Christian evangelicals? "Ride with Jesus" and all?

I need one of those on my keyboard. It would help my handle time and help me reach the unreasonable conversion goals some of my clients have.

/when only two of your top five agents hit their conversion goals, then there is a problem with the goals, not the agents
//when you expect me to convert at 12%, but I only get one or two saleable calls out of 15 total in a shift, there is a problem with the goals, not me

I realize you're trolling but I wouldn't care either.

Well, good, I approve of my tax dollars from my substantially positive federal tax burden going to good and useful things like Amtrak and equality.

2012-08-04 04:28:04 PM
Oddly enough, GLBT folks pay taxes, too, and they're still permitted on trains, despite the efforts of terrified Christian bigots in this country to turn them into "the new Black."

2012-08-04 04:28:11 PM
Hmm...I wonder which the American people have decided to back?

A failing, tax stealing, government-run, bureaucratic institution

or

a successful Christian run business that has posted records profits for standing up to Washington liberals and their homosexual allies?

Shaggy_C: How would you feel if Amtrak put up an ad targeting born-again Christian evangelicals? "Ride with Jesus" and all?

Are you saying homosexuality is a religion? If not, I don't see the comparison. A better analogy would be if Amtrak targeted single people or married couples to ride the train, and I would have no problem with that either.

If you want biatch about Amtrak, maybe you can complain about something legitimate like having a 16 dollar overhead for a burger.

I have determined, through rigorous scientific testing of Fark threads, that homosexuality damages the sarcasm meter. I shall now require a hefty grant from Chick fil-A.

Trollmitter is aware that they aren't fully funded by tax subsidies, right? Last time I checked, I still had to pay for my ticket.
