I used to cheapskate the Bellagio buffet. Pay the breakfast price just before the switch to lunch and get the best of both worlds. But, the last time I tried it, the buffet was still 95% breakfast 45 minutes after they started charging lunch prices. And it wasn't even fancy breakfast. Pretty much the same offerings as any $4.99 breakfast buffet. Very disappointing. Another Vegas tradition lost.

For the alleged flagship/namesake of their resorts, Caesar's buffet was pretty damn weak -- if you had Caesar's Entertainment meal comps/credits and you wanted a buffet you were pretty nuts not to take the short walk basically across the street to Paris. Planet Hollywood was also supposed to be better. And the two resorts to the south of Caesar's on the same side of the street are probably considered the best of the buffets (Cosmopolitan and Bellagio).

Granted, I'd much rather eat in the actual restaurants, but if you're going to have a buffet, you may as well make it half-decent.

I used to know a Caesar's chef. The first employee there to win their "First Citizen of Rome" award. Total prick. Was one of the first Tea Partiers, belongs to a Christian "Hate the Earth" church, and one time ran a city bus off the road because the driver was African-American.

Buffets are a pox on dining out. They do nothing but encourage overeating as people stuff themselves to the gills trying to 'get their money's worth'. Meanwhile obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease are at epidemic levels in the US population.

Somehow eating a nice appetizer, small entree and a dessert while enjoying a fine beverage has been replaced with shoveling food in by the bucket full. Here, have a wafer thin mint on me.
