Another misleading Fark headline. Costa Rica and Vietnam will get a lot of those jobs.

I was pleasantly surprised that the local talk radio tard-spewer didn't try to spin yesterday's increased hiring numbers as "anticipation of the Romney administration's new Golden Age by Small BusinessHeroes getting on board early!"

I'm sure he would have, but we have a Chik-Fil-A here, so that was pretty much his entire show.

12 million jobs repatriated from overseas (which you know, after conversions, tariffs, dues, fees, import taxes, and executive overhead will be about oh, 5 or so).

Alternately, 12 million metric jobs, which in good old USA numbers is.....about 5

So why hasn't he told the rest of the Republicans in Congress how to implement this policy already?

I almost hope that means Mitt is trolling us. It would show he has at least a vestigial sense of humor.

So we can assume in September he'll tell us he has a plan for $2.50 per gallon gas?

To be fair they say that's dependent upon tax hikes for the rich and cuts to entitlements. The latter will happen regardless of who is in office. The former not so much.

How many of them are at minimum wage? Part-time without health benefits?

2012-08-04 11:58:25 AM
You know what, even if he did it still wouldn't be enough to get unemployment below 5%. If you're going to give predictions based in fantasy, at least shoot for the moon

And McCain knew how to get bin Laden.

And Bachmann seems to know something about Muslim infiltrators that other people aren't keyed in on.

Seems we have a lot of GOP candidates with special information that they're withholding from the country.

Don't we have "enhanced interrogation techniques" to get this information out of tight lipped bastards?

2012-08-04 12:17:29 PM
Would be nice if the media asked these bastards for details on their plans. Oh wait the media can not offend a politician by doing the their job, especially requiring answers of a conservative who will immediately bleat about the "liberal" press.

Most of the jobs shed were public sector jobs. Republicans don't consider those to be real.

The fifty employee cut off is for full time employees in Affordable Care Act. This may lead to a greater number of part time workers or so Faux News has stated. Link

It's not full time employees, it's full time equivalent. If you have 2 people putting in 40 hours between them then you have 1 FTE employee. The only way a business can benefit is if they cut the actual number of hours that they have people on the clock for. They can get that benefit regardless of if those people are full time or not.

Each one of those lines is pretty easily explained.

Public Sector Under Bush -- Department of Homeland Security and the TSA were created.

Private Sector Under Bush -- took a beating upon enactment of tax cuts. This was in part due to a slowdown caused by 9/11, but that huge sucking sound you hear are jobs being shipped to India and China.

Public Sector Under Obama -- OMG! Spending cuts! The horror! Isn't that what Republicans WANTED?

Private Sector Under Obama -- it's coming back around, but consider for a couple of moments that he inherited an extremely shiatty and volatile economy. The fact that line is trending upwards is a GOOD thing.

Yeah, sounds like he's pulling the same bullshiat that Florida's Criminal governor Scott pulled. He said he would bring the same amount of jobs to Florida that were already predicted. Initially he said he would add 700,00 on top of that number, but after he got elected it magically changed to the exact number that was already predicted.

Actually, I DID read the bottom of the chart. So what if Obama hasn't had a second term, you can certainly follow Bush's all the way along, can't you? The chart already has Bush's entire first term, where Obama still has a month to go, and I'd like to see the drop at the end of Bush's second term. Is there a reason we shouldn't see the start of the dip that occurred before Bush left office? Or are you the kind of person who thinks that gas jumped massively under Obama because it ended low under Bush?

Walker did the same thing in WI, except he managed to detonate the state economy with his "budget" and actually destroyed a net 21,000 jobs instead.
