The horse does all the work, really. Also, it's a judged sport, which makes things highly subjective.

That is only evidence that you dont like watching dressage. Which is fair. None of the horses or riders care if you like it. I dont care if you like it. Hell I dont even really like watching dressage unless the only other sports on are soccer bowling or golf. But liking or disliking something is hardly a definition of sport. Otherwise there would be a Stanley Cup for watching porn and a World Cup for whining about NBC.

I think the should add jousting to the Olympics: horse, rider, miltary history, easy to pick the winner, it's perfect.

It's a horse show. They don't show working dogs or herding dogs at the Olympics. Know why? Because that would be farking stupid. Sort of like dressage.

well let's see. first, it's a horse show, so why do we care what riders earn medals? showing cats is not a sport, so why pretend that this is? also, any competition that is solely determined by judges is not a sport. it's a judged competition (eg beauty pageants, toddler and tiaras, figure skating, dancing with the stars, etc). sure some competition require more athleticism then others, maybe there's a dance portion of the score, maybe there's a vault portion, but they are not sports. they are competitions. of course some people believe that if the olympics gives out medals that makes it a sport. it doesn't.

/also, old people suck and should never be able to win any true sport.

If they want horses in the Olympics, make jousting an Olympic sport.

I don't care what happens to individual dressage and team dressage as long as they don't touch 3 day eventing, loves me some equestrian cross-country. Although, I would be open to replacing the dressage portion with jousting.

You know that modern Jousting is just snagging Rings right?
Full contact Jousting is extremely dangerous and is normally only done as exhibition between two choreographed parties. (and even then there are a ton of injuries)

/Worked in a Maryland stable that handled Rodeo, Modern Jousting, and Full Contact Jousting

It looks like you're trying to come up with something more ridiculous than awarding Olympic medals for dressage. Would you like some help with that?

/try "an Olympic medal for walking"
