Well played, Subby.

Also, why in the hell would anyone be a meter maid anymore? A legal decision saying its OK for lawbreakers to yell at you?

This headline is a winner. I love you, subby.

$873 for a parking violation? Is jaywalking two years in PMITA prison?

/ meter reader should have just given it right back at the fat fark MSU douchebag, called it even

The justices in that case stated police should not be given the ability to arrest individuals for words or conduct that offend them

Without this, most young liberal brats would be in jail.

The $873 was for being a dick after the fact. The parking ticket was presumably less.

Because making people's day miserable is an awesome job? After years as a tech support rep, you're already used to people yelling at you anyway.

"A district court judge slapped Rapp with an $873 fine, a mandatory anger management course, 80 hours of community service and two years of probation because Rapp yelled at MSU meter maid Ricardo Rego who had issued a ticket to Rapp on September 16, 2008."

Um, Ricardo? I wonder how Ricardo feels being called a maid?

Good. It takes a special kind of moral bankruptcy to be willing to take a job that consists entirely of ruining other people's day. It shouldn't be a crime for the rest of us to tell a person who does, what we think of their character.

Fat black women seem to love it, for whatever reason. Only way of getting 'revenge' on the world i suppose.

In NYC, the brownies (they wore brown uniforms like a park ranger) here successfully lobbied the city to give them uniforms and badges to match the NYPD, so people would think twice before beating them with a tire iron. The NYPD hated them before, and now hate them even more. Whenever a cop hears "parking officer in need of assistance" on the dispatch radio, they take the scenic route getting there.

Parking tickets have nothing to do with allocating scarce resources. Any scarcity is artificially created by zoning restrictions to make sure there's never adequate parking. Washington, DC makes $100 million a year from parking tickets, for example.

Meter maids aren't people just doing a tough job, they're thieves.

Ahhh... that sucks. These folks are doing their jobs; it's a paycheck that goes a long way, usually, for them. Be nice.

Hey, yeah. Those guards at Auschwitz were just doing their jobs too, so that makes it all OK.

I know it's not the same level of evil, not even close. But meter maids are still reprehensible slime deserving of all the abuse the public can dish out at them. And unlike many the concentration camp guards, they chose that job willingly, no one had a guy pointed at their heads.

If they can't take the abuse, they should quit. And perhaps if we the public dish out enough abuse at these scum. at some point no one will be willing to do that slimy work.
