purple and green EZ SQUIRT ketchup came out in the year 2000, so DEFINITELY not a 90s thing!

in 2003 i dated a girl who had a toddler. i'd buy blue parkay squeeze bottle margarine to make the mac & cheese green when it mix with the yellow cheese dye, and purple ketchup for our tater tots

If this idiot has kept her mouth shut (before or after, I don't really care), we'd have had a very different presidential election in 19992000.

The election was held in 2000, with the new President inaugurated in January of the next year, 2001.

We should also forget cheap energy and a relatively peaceful world.

Cheap gas is missed, but I guess those wars in Iraq and Bosnia, plus the attacks on the WTC, US Embassies in Africa, and the USS Cole were peaceful, eh?

/Amazing how quickly people forget.

I didn't really have a problem with real monsters, but Rugrats gets an inordinate amount of love for a fairly obnoxious show. No matter what anyone claims, Rocko's was the best Nicktoon.

Rocko was good. I always liked Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Oh - and Ren & Stimpy, of course (but only when drinking or otherwise not sober)

I don't remember purple ketchup, but I remember green ketchup. I remember the dye from it made your shiat turn green, too.

Never tried either color. Speaking of shiat turning green...Why does GRAPE soda, which is purple, turn
one's shiat the most god-awful, nightmare-inducing shade of green?

It does that? Grape soda's never done that to me. That I've noticed, anyway. It does make my pee smell like grape, though.

/Never tried the novelty ketchup.

16) I don't remember that being some big '90s thing. Actually I'd sort of like a hat like that now. Anyway, I thought the fedora was the fedora of the '90s, just like all other decades.

I was about the come in here and defend goatees. Glad you beat me to it. Trimmed in well, they are classy and suitable for all occasions.

I could have a beard in days, but I don't like them. No ZZ top for me.

I don't know what's funnier, the fatass who thinks people can't see his double chin from the side or the other dipshiat that thinks goatees are classy.

And what would you suggest to people who can shave at 8am and have shadow at noon?

Really, I am waiting...

Not only did I hate the baggy, backward clothes, but these guys sucked in general.

I saw a kid standing at a bus stop trying to rock that look a few days ago. All I thought was "...reeeaaally????"

They may still be around but they went out of style in the 90s. Still popular with rednecks and IT guys, they're basically the mullet of a new generation.

I liked the creepy colored catsups

why are Legos stuck together a 90s thing?

i have a full goatee. There's no way I will ever give it up. That said, the little douche-beards have always sucked

Everything by Klasky Csupo, save for their couple season of Simpsons, has been horrifically ugly. I could always tell it was one of their shows by how horrible the art was.

I never understood how and why the Moe haircut came back.

I still wear my big floppy fishing hats, but mainly when I'm working out in the yard. They may be ugly, but they do provide good protection from the sun.

#22 and #23 combine to form the perfect storm of suck

THE NOW SERIES WAS AWESOME. At least in Canada.

Although nothing - nothing! beat Big Shiny Tunes during the 90s. Undisputed king of the compilation CD market.

Kids these days don't remember what finding music was like as a tween, before Napster. Without a CD of good hits you had to listen to radio or watch MuchMusic and just hope the new song you liked came on in between ads and 900 plays of bad boy band music. It was hell.

Plus, the ONLY thing that would have been required for the outcome of that election to have been different would have been for Gore to have the stones to campaign on the notion that nothing would change except the scandals. All he had to do was say," Things are going well, let's keep it that way, but I'm not as stupid as my processor so there won't be any of the bullshiat." But he was afraid to, or wasn't allowed to, distance himself from Clinton so boldly.

/what were we talking about?

I was traveling around so much trying to get rich I had no idea what was going on with pop culture. I didn't own a TV or see a movie for most of the decade. I started watching repeats of the X-Files in 2002 and thought it was the coolest thing ever. That's actually what led me to Fark.

Zizzowop: wotthefark: steve_s: They forgot grunge rock, or as Beavis and Butthead called it, "grudge rock".

No they didn't. It's a double negative. They forgot to forget therefore some of the best albums ever made came out of Seattle from 91-95. If you think "grunge" sucks then you didn't get it or were born too late.

Think of all that great rock from the early 2000s I mean Creed sold more albums than Jimi Hendrix so they were cool right???

Led Zeppelin, REM, and Depeche Mode have never had a number one single. Celine Dion's "Falling Into You" sold more copies than any AIC, Nirvana, or Pearl Jam record so she must be great and she's Canadian.

They probably should have included "Buffcoat and Beaver".

So...where is Pearl Jam now?

Society and culture now isn't a whole lot different now than it was in the 90's, especially when conpared to the 80's which were so radically different that they feel just as distant today as the 1950's do. The 2000's and 2010's feel more like a DLC expansion pack for the 90's as opposed to the 80's which were a completely different thing.
