I don't want to work with people that are too stupid to safely use a paper clip.

Actually, the plastic ones are more dangerous as they can easily break and I've seen children in the ER who have aspirated plastic paper clip pieces. I've never seen an injury with a metal paper clip in the ER.

Of course I live in the US and we manage not to hurt ourselves with office supplies.

If I worked there I would immediately cut my finger on a plastic clip just to see their next move.

When will they ban cotton balls. Now those are downright dangerous. They can do something bad. I haven't figured out what but I'll look around the Florida newspapers for leads.
