Oh, you didn't know? It takes more than a headshot to kill that man. He retired and now you know him now as Bill Nye The Science Guy.

It's amazing what people don't know.

k, I'm not seeing anything that would support the stories of his vampire hunting...
In fact the bit about the exhumation and his being in great shape 15 years after his 'death', kinda leans toward vamp, not vamp hunter....

He survived a headshot, but Bill Abraham Nye-Lincoln couldn't survive a massive baking soda explosion.

When Lincoln won the election, an 11-year-old girl named Grace Bedell wrote the President-elect a letter: "You would look a great deal better [if you grew a beard] for your face is so thin. All the ladies like whiskers and they would tease their husbands to vote for you and then you would be President." Lincoln took her advice, and his beard was born. In this early 1861 photograph, you can see Lincoln growing out his famous stubble. Lincoln later visited the little girl and told her, "Gracie, look at my whiskers. I have been growing them for you."

Lincoln better go have a seat over there.

Abraham Lincoln was a good old man
He hopped out the window with his dick in his hand
Said 'excuse me lady, I'm doing my duty
So pull down your pants and give me some boody'

Ah, the 19th century. When a man need not have combed his hair a single time in his life to find success.

The funny thing with these daguerreotypes is if I drew a picture like this it would be driving me freaking nuts because it doesn't look the way a real human being looks, and yet it is actually a photograph of a real human being. Look at the hands and the arms, they look so unnatural in relation to the body.

A well honed single blade razor is sharper and more effective than the best modern cartridge. Bit of a pain to maintain, but back then it was the only way. Go to an old fashioned barbershop and ask for a shave sometime.

And if you use the obsidian razors that our distant ancestors used, you can get an edge that's just a few atoms thick. Modern steel blades have never come anywhere close to that.

In a word, "no".

A straight razor will still give you the best shave possible.

Ohlookabutterfly: Abraham who?

Abraham Lincoln, the guy from the Bible - you know, the guy that God told to "take your son up to that rock and kill him as a sacrifice to me". Abraham said "well, ok, you're the boss", but before he could kill his son, God said "Psych! Just messing with you, don't kill him".

Then that bastard God went and killed Abraham's son later anyways with Typhoid.

The so-called last photograph of Lincoln alive was not actually the last photograph of Lincoln alive. It was taken months earlier than people claim.

The jacket seems too large and the style creating a lot of weird straight lines, like it's a shell and he's kind of rattling around in it. It makes the angles off.

There is a book out now that speculates Lincoln would have been impeached, had he not been assassinated. I'm no expert on American history of that period, but the premise is not all that surprising to me. Just remember that after WW II, the Brits tossed out Churchill.

The electorate can be damn fickle and stupid.

That said, I tend to regard Lincoln as our best president, even over Washington. Given the impossible chance, I would have loved to meet him and just spend an hour talking with him.
