The fact gay (anyone really) people are worried about what the fark Chik-Filet does with their money is worrisome. They are giving money to support their values. So what?

olddinosaur: SpecialK29: whidbey: olddinosaur: WhippingBoy: Would gay people be happy if being gay was regarded as completely and utterly unremarkable?

Libertarians have felt that way for 40+ years, and they hate us worse than the Republitards.

There are plenty of reasons to hate libertarians, actually. Probably not for this reason.

Personally, I hate Libertarians for treating people as human beings (and not as cattle like they are). The fact that they believe adults can make decisions for themselves pisses me off on a deep level.

Don't forget our affirmation of the sanctity of the individual, and the right of all persons to live their lives any way they wish, provided solely that they do not inflict their ways by force upon any other people wishing to do the same.

That would also include gays, collectivists and leftist libtards, BTW.

Yep, sure is a lot there to hate.

And don't even get me started on that whole libertarian 'live and let live' thing. Nothing pisses me off more than another adult doing something in their home that I don't approve of. How can I be expected to live my life when others are doing things I don't like. And these people want EVERYONE to pay taxes? Isn't that what the 1% is for?

Actually plenty are happy when rational people treat it as such.

Yeah, that's actually their end-game.

Is "gay for attention" still a conservative argument?

Why not? They don't have any others.

It's never been a question of "religious freedom". Nobody, none that I know of at least, says we need to stop or change or limit religious freedom. This is a pithy distraction technique used by religious extremists. "But what is the question?" you ask? The question, and the battle arising from said question is, "Does religious freedom *include* the right to discriminate against people for religious reasons?"

The answer is no. It will always be no. You can pick that question up and paint on it or hold it at a different angle and squint at it all you want, but the answer isn't going to change. You can yell and shout and stomp your feet and threaten to hold your breath all you want. You can pretend the question is something it really isn't and hope people don't notice. The ones that don't are usually the ones that are afraid to ask questions in the first place, and are likely already members of your fringe group. You aren't going to convince anyone not already in the mud pit with you that your argument has merit.

America is not a "Christian nation". Bigotry and discrimination isn't a religious right. The answer to foreign extremism isn't home grown extremism. Yours is the dying gasp of a group who becomes less and less relevant, year by year. You might go kicking and screaming before you go, but go you will.

Way to go gay/lesbian community. In your derp you have managed to increase CFA sales. Which only means they have more money to contribute to groups that will continue to keep you from equal rights. The CEO maybe next week come out and say all gays/lesbians are going to hell, maybe set another new sales record.

/At least the gun control debate is over with and we can talk about important stuff like CFA beign pro-traditional marriage

No, that's Wiccans. On the subject of men buttfarking other men the OT simply calls it sheqets, or unclean. Same word it uses with regard to eating shellfish or pork.

Curiously, it doesn't say much about the hot lezzie side of things at all. Just notes that buttfarking is unclean.

Do you assume that hetero couples are always loving parents?

Does being a same-sex couple preclude them from being loving parents?

What evidence from the article would lead you to the default position that they are not?

Unaffiliated here...

The savvy thing about the Democrats is that they hate gays, illegals, and secularists just as much as the Republicans, but they realized the only way they can get any power is to market themselves as the political safe haven for those groups.

The Republicans are too dumb to understand this. They are also too creeped out by the whole gay thing. Seriously...get over it republicans. It doesn't make the marriage to your fat wife any less valid.

Look, I am for gay marriage and oppose any bigotry against gay people.

But stfu about chik-fil-a already. You are just giving them free advertisement. The CEO is allowed to donate the companies money and his money any way he wants. That is freedom. The CEO could give his money to the communist party, and it is still perfectly fine. Like others have said, many companies give money to socialist causes. Doesn't mean you have to get your undies in a bundle over it.

Would you boycott a business which gives money to Islamic charities, which fund executions of homosexuals in the middle east?

That said, I don't eat there, never have and never will.

Yes, because boycotting something you have a choice in is just the same as boycotting something that is required to just get yourself to work.

Yes you can choose to live on a bus route, or live in a major metro, if you're lucky and can afford it.

Don't know either, but the Old Testament is what is currently used to justify anti-gay bigotry.... Since Jesus said zippo about it.

/as with all religions, folks just pick & choose whatever allows them to justify hate

While most Christians believe that it is in direct reference to the OT, the degree to which they accept it really depends on which Christian sect you ask. Most "conservative Christians" believe that Yeshua did away with the bans on things they like, such as eating bacon and lobster and wearing cotton-poly blends, but kept that ban on gayness despite the fact that it is mere lines away from the other bans in Leviticus. Their reasoning for this can only be explained by illogical hatred and a pick-and-choose attitude towards their own dogma.

The conservative side of this argument has no merit.

/Also, ignore.

Add me to that list too. Nothing solves a problem or opens a dialogue better than ignoring people you dont agree with, that is very tolerant of you by the way. If I hurt your feelings someone in the echo chamber you live in will make you feel better by telling you, you are still right.
