I'm not sure it is the worst failure of advertising I've ever seen... you will remember the name of the brand. But I'm not entirely certain it's the image they're going to want to go with their brand.

I assumed it was some sort of modern art project, but the site itself appears to be a legit ice cream joint in Philadelphia. It's not at all disturbing the way the video is.

The Web site is an even bigger fail.

It's a four-store ice cream shop. They need brand awareness in a way that you can't achieve with normal ads. People who patronize the place already aren't going to stop doing it based on the ad, and people who don't know the place wouldn't have responded to a "come and try our awesome ice cream!" ad. It prompted me to click on their web site, and if I were in Philly, I'd probably go check it out. If only 1 in 50 people have my reaction, then I'd say it works.

Oh, and their web site is intermittently farked. So you can take whatever you will from that...

"I want some of that damn ice cream!"
