A show about proving ghosts exist!

Science fiction fans, Siffy hates you, and wishes you would shut up and watch their fine programming about ghost cars.

No, it's a show you think is about proving ghosts exists, but WHAT A TWIST the entire cast are zombies. Or something.

I swore years ago that when EUREKA was done I would never watch SyFy again.

I see now that I made the right choice.

Fark you, Bonnie Hammer.

Much as Sliders was canceled because Siffy had spent all their money on shows that didn't even last a season, Eureka was canceled to make way for programming like M. Night Shamalamadingdong's Ghost Provers, and a whole slate of fine reality programming that has nothing to do with sci-fi!

And you can bet that Warehouse 13 won't see season 5! I bet Siffy has a show about driving a cars to WWE events to put make-up on Doink the Clown's ghost lined up to replace it!

This. Over and over again. Once BSG and Eureka were done, so was I. I'd like to start Warehouse 13, but I'm too afraid they'll cancel it early too...

I miss the old Sci-Fi....

I love warehouse 13. It's starting up its fourth season now; even if it were cancelled tomorrow the previous three seasons are definitely worth watching.

Siffy still has a couple of gems if you look. Warehouse 13 is enjoyable enough, and even takes place in the same universe as Eureka. Even if it gets cancelled, there's still a few seasons of material to enjoy. Alphas is also promising so far. It's essentially another try at Heroes.

Warehouse 13 has an unusually large 20 episode order for the current season, which is why I'm guessing it won't be renewed.

And yeah, it's the best of what sci-fi Siffy still shows.

Imagine if you will, an announcer you can barely understand, he refers to a [mutters], but you're not quite sure what he said. He seems to be eating something, or perhaps he's a little drunk. It's remotely possible that he just said something about the Scary Door

I'm all for making fun of Shyamalan and his increasingly crappy movies, but the jokes about his name are about on par with "speaking Chinese" by saying ching chang chong.

that said, SyFy + Shyamalan is the biggest indicator of suck.

It hasn't been Sci-Fi since they brought that stupid broad in to run it and the first thing she did was "update" the name by misspelling it.

You're taking a vacation from normality. The setting: a weird motel where the bed is stained with mystery. And there's also some mystery floating in the pool. Your key card may not open the exercise room because someone smeared mystery on the lock. But it will open the Scary Door.

Their miniseries have been pretty good on average. I wish they would scrap their "SyFy Original Films" and just put that money towards 2-3 high quality miniseries each year. I'd love to see them adapt some other Sci-Fi book series like they did with Dune, or even Riverworld.

2012-08-03 02:18:45 PM
Ill miss Eureka, i like Warehouse 13 a lot, Alphas started off kind of rocky, but its grown on me and Haven is pretty good too. What little scripted programming they have left is pretty good, but the number of scripted shows keeps shrinking. And theres not much sci-fi about any of it, any of those shows would probably do fine on USA or even ABC Family.

Except that "shamalamadingdong" is part of the lyrics to a song, so it has a legitimate purpose outside of making fun of a one-trick director.

the article forgot to mention "Devil" the craptacular film about Satan possessing an Office Building...
anyways... Marti Knoxon is really really good...and Shamylan sucks at many things...but I have wanted to see him produce someone else's script as he does normally come up with excellent cinematography jus can't write his way out of a paper bag ( seriously...6th Sense was so farking over rated... the "twist" was apparent in the first 5 minutes)

and honestly... Tin Man was shiat... beyond the low budget, it was just retarded. I mean...it's really really hard to fark up an OZ remake...and with a 95% great cast they managed...I'm looking at you Zooey Dechanel...you may be cute...but you can't.farking.act.

Syfi sucks donkey d**ks anyhow. No one will notice his film, between over acted, fake, fly by wire, 'night vision filmed' Ghost Hunter shows and the WWF along with some of the cheapest made, crappy 'horror' films since the early 1950's -- and these not even good enough to become nostalgic -- staffed with actors whose names you'll never see again in anything.

I think 'Sharktopuss' sez it all.

I'm considering suing COMCAST cable for including that channel in my lineup.

I grew up in the 50's where watching Sify movies usually meant you could see the ill fitting monster costumes wobble on the actors and possibly the strings making the huge monster bats fly.

Even so, THEY were better produced than the crap that's on Sify today.

I figure their annual budget must be about $12.50. They can't pay more than $0.50 for each reel of things like 'Dinocrock'. By now, the WWF must be giving their episodes away for free.

I think if we have any more crappy shark films, I might go to Hollywood and beat up the producers.

The rule of thumb for horror movies back in the 50's was get a cute young chick, have her run, scream, trip and fall, scream some more, scream, run, fall again and scream. Have her 'rescued' by a dashing, young guy, who was never particularly bright though always ready for a fight. Make sure to include a car that would NEVER start when needed. Add in secondary characters to be chewed up by whatever monster happened by, preferably in the bloodiest and most horrific way possible.

I notice that the formula is still basically followed today on Sify.

I still say Syfy reads like a pet name for syphilis.

I thought the rule was to create a farking long movie title with as many scary words as possible and eerie sounds/music in the background

WAREHOUSE 13 is a show I should love, but the few episodes I've seen left me rather cold, and its mostly
because Allison Scagliotti (whom I should be all over like shag pile carpet inside a Chevy van) is such an
obvious product of a network mandate to have a hot geek grrl on the show that she may as well be called
'Poochie'.

But, perhaps, I am being too harsh:

No. At the risk of being accused of being gay (NTTAWWT), she just doesn't do it for me.
