Romney is going to attack Obama on transparency? The counter-ads write themselves.

If they knew what it was like, if they had a clue, they'd find themselves doing the same thing too.

Diogenes: Romney staff spent nearly $100,000 to hide records

Wow, it's like an Obama conspiracy theory, except there's evidence it actually happened.

Why wouldn't this guy just forward/CC e-mails to his official account to make sure they're covered as required by law?

"Mr. Messina had a longstanding personal email account in which he got traffic. In an effort to comply with all the regulations pertaining to emails, he would forward emails to his White House account or copy his White House account so that those emails would be part of presidential record," Carney said.

Oh.

"I think it's very troubling that Jim Messina ... when he was serving in the White House as a senior aide, made promises to a lobbyist about obtaining billions of dollars in public funds, and he did it using his personal email, which suggests he wanted to hide the conversation," Fehrnstrom said.

Romney accuses Obama of breaking the law.

That's the joke.

Okay, I've seen enough.

Mr. Romney, I have no idea if you'll ever see this, but apparently you have drunken lobotomized lab chimps running your campaign, so I'm going to do you a favor and offer up a few tidbits that might help you while they're flinging poo at the walls and each other.

1) The economy is not great. Push that. Hard.

2) Push yourself as a hard-nosed businessman who has had to make hard choices in your business career. Present yourself as a financial ER specialist, doing triage on damaged and dying companies and saving what you could while sacrificing the ones that couldn't be saved.

3) RELEASE YOUR TAX RECORDS. No matter how bad you think they are, nothing is worse than what we imagine is in them.

4) No apologies for what's in them. Be upfront and honest about why you kept them out of sight for so long.

5) FIRE YOUR TEAM IMMEDIATELY AND GET PEOPLE IN THERE THAT WILL BE HONEST WITH YOU.

6) Focus on your strengths, your business career and stop pretending like you're middle class. No one believes it and it demeans the middle class and the rich alike. Bush Sr. was unapologetic about being rich to the point of not knowing how much a loaf of bread cost.

7) For the love of god, make a list of your principled stances and stick with them. The current perception of you is that you'd say and do whatever it took to be liked by whoever you're talking to at the moment. Your perception is that of a man without values, without principles and without a spine. STOP IT.

Consider this my only contribution to your efforts and I do this strictly out of a sense of pity. We both know you stand no chance of getting elected, but if you took these steps, you might make yourself into a respectable candidate.

So how did they find out about these emails?

Did they find out about them, because they guy did his due diligence and forwarded them for recording purposes?
Are they complaining about things being hidden from the record by pointing at things that are in the record?

Because that would just be too perfect.

"He intented to avoid transparency by cc'ing his emails to his offical whitehouse.gov account." Those are the words republicans want to represent them in the public record? Clearly, Republicanism is a mental illness and anyone suffering from it should lay down and take two of these

While good advice in general, I don't think that's an issue dogging Romney. I don't think he listens to their advice. I think his staff is in 24/7 reactive damage control mode.

And therein lies their greatest problem. They're doing nothing but REACTING to the Democratic assault. They're dancing to Obama's tune and it's not going to get better for them until they start making attacks of their own and force the White House to react to them instead of the other way around.

Wars are not won by damage control or being reactive.

No, but they keep pointing out what was said and done. That's Democratic action. It's not hard or complicated, but then the most efficient warfare is often the simplest.

People often talk about how radicals will ultimately destroy democracy because we allow radicals legitimacy when it comes to politics. What they always fail to realize is that by allowing the radicals to speak, WE LET EVERYONE HEAR HOW CRAZY THEY ARE.

And that's why radicals always the losers in 'middle of the road' America.

it's no different here.

I've been saying that since he became the de facto nominee. Although the economy has made the race closer, the Romney camp is overestimating its impact and have been lazy, defensive, reactive, and punch drunk.

And beyond being aware of it, the Obama team is exploiting it. And poor Mitt's ego forces him to take the bait every single time. He can't resist reacting. He can't let things slide, deny/ignore the narrative, and come up with a better one of his own.

Romney is going to make a public fuss about seeing these e-mails. Obama will let it resonate for a couple weeks. Obama will then, in the spirit of equal treatment, demand Romney release the e-mails from his time as governor.

The bag of pooh is burning on the porch and now we just wait for Romney open the door to stomp it out.

Diabolically clever! Obama used his time machine to go back a couple of centuries and made sure our founding fathers included freedom of speech in the constitution!

This comes, of course, months after Romney was openly meeting with and fundraising with Donald Trump (and others if memory serves), who runs a superPAC for him.
