I'm sold.

So, he did take advantage of the 2009 IRS amnesty for his unreported Swiss account with UBS?

Before Mitt Romney, I didn't know there were people sleazier than used car salesmen and pawn brokers.

What a normal person says:
"I don't pay less taxes than are legally due, and frankly, if I had paid less than are legally due, I don't think I'd be qualified to become president."

What a sycophantic money-grubbing douchebag says:
"I don't pay more taxes than are legally due, and frankly, if I had paid more than are legally due, I don't think I'd be qualified to become president."

BTW someone pointed out Romney's dad had no problem showing his tax returns back when he ran for office. And if the quote is right, he defended the practice.

It's just another example of how the rules simply don't apply to him.

I heard from someone somewhere that one time Mitt Romney water skiied through a no wake zone. Well, that's what Mr. Reid said anyway.

Obama would just make a big fuss about the perfectly normal and upstanding condition of my tax returns. We'd really just be wasting everyone's time. In fact, I think Obama is really the one to blame here.

In a location that will make the Birth Certificate billboard look like its at ground zero for shiatsville

Cooper had CNN Capitol Hill reporter, Dana Bash on to discuss the story, according to Bash, her source can confirm Sen. Reid's allegation. Bash went even further, she said this source also personally knows the Bain source who would have access to Romney's tax record. If this Bain source story is true, then, Mitt Romney is in serious trouble. I'll have more later. Link

It's worse than that. His father is the one who started the tradition of candidates releasing their tax returns.

Somebody has to be telling him to release now because the election is still 3 months away and it will be long forgotten by then. And he still won't do it. This is bad news. For Obama.

The man has known hes running for President for 5 years! At least release the returns for that period, wherein only a complete moron do anything that would look bad on paper.

Wow. I mean, if it's all legal then he's technically not in real trouble. Despite how flaccid my opinion is of Reid, I LOVE how he said he's paid ZERO for ALL ten years. He went balls-to-wall on this one, and now Romney is the one who has to call his bluff.

I'm certain Obama has seen the returns. I'm even more certain that he has shared that knowledge with other high-level democrats. He can't directly accuse anything until Romney releases the returns, so he's having other people parcel out information indirectly. However, I don't think he paid 0%. I think the 0% is bait to get Romney to release his returns and announce triumphantly "HaHa! You were wrong! I actually paid 3%"

Note subby, he never said the IRS didn't charge him with anything, he said he paid 100% of the taxes owed by him. That could include back taxes and fines.

/"Back taxes" is hard to say 10 times fast.

Romney: Hey guys, how do you think this international trip is going? Awesome, right?

Advisors: Well...maybe you should find something else to talk about for a while. You don't want to burn people out with how good you are at foreign affairs.

Romney: I just had a great idea. Maybe I should talk about something besides foreign affairs for a while. How about my tax returns?

Advisors: No! No you incompetent boo....ooh, that's a good idea boss. Run with that.

Romney: Why, I bet I know how to lay that silly little thing to rest for good. I'll just let everybody know I was audited by the IRS. That proves I'm on the level.

Advisors: Yeah, that's what that does.

Romney: Hey, where are you guys going?

Advisors: There's another meeting we have to get to. At a bar.

Romney: Should I be in that meeting?

Advisors: It's about policy details.

Romney: Okay, I'll stay here.

So he is, though he never practiced.

On the other hand, if this lead to Romney dropping out and Paul got the nomination, the Republican ticket would get slaughtered at the polls and the RON PAUL followers would finally have to face reality... ok, at least the part where they believe America would elect him if the media wasn't keeping the people from getting to know him and his policies.
