ManateeGag: what would Romney's response have been? "Fall down. Go Boom! Bad!"

Odds are? He'd make a stupid joke about her being overcome by the power of his speech.

To be fair, the teleprompter said so he didn't really come up with that one on his own.

2012-08-02 01:30:15 PM
I was told that it was my imagination that people fainted at his speeches...or that it must be the heat...even in March. There is no way this is an article validating that people faint at his speeches in greater numbers than other politicians. If so, then this man is a menace to those of us that want to remain upright and unfainted.

The man is a master of off-the-cuff responses and self-effacing humor. Mittens is doomed.

Romney doesn't have this problem since the people that attend his rallies aren't packed in like sardines.

Geez, if they were fainting at Obama talking for too long, I can't wait until Bill Clinton makes a speech at the convention. People may die of starvation.

OK, that's just funny.

/Obama always struck me as a good guy as a person

I've never even heard of someone faint from fanaticism. Fear and dehydration maybe, but not getting really happy over the President making a speech.

Actually, he does have this problem, sort of, the people aren't fainting though, they are just falling asleep.

"People attend my speeches?"

And the reason they faint at Romney speeches?

Because they can't believe what just came out of his mouth... It's shock, plain and simple.

Obama's speeches are like my uncle's (retired minister) prayers before Thanksgiving dinner. They go on for too long, and the food is getting cold, damn it.

I get the idea you may be too young to remember "Beatlemania" in the early 60's.

Reverend Wright taught him a few tricks, especially how to whip up (fake) hysteria in the deluded masses. Obama is acting calmly and funny because he knows that this is a scripted event. What kind of man cracks a joke when somebody faints?

Yeah, God forbid he should have a tough time cleaning up the farking shiatty farking mess left by your Republican hero.

It took Clinton at least 3 years to clean up a GOP mess.

what mess did Clinton have to clean up?

Well, there was at least one laundry bill he should have paid.

I fainted at a concert once. I hadn't eaten all day, walked to the concert, and remembered to wear my worst pair of boots, the ones that hurt my feet and cut off circulation if I stood in them too long. I'm going to go out there and suggest these idiots brought it on themselves, like my own fool self.

Then You ain''t never been to a proper evangelical church service, fainting from religious ecstacy (or as they call it "being slain in the Spirit") is extremely common

You know who else talked for so long that people passed out? The Apostle Paul, that's who:

On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "He's alive!" Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted. - Acts 20:7-12

It's refreshing to find people who don't take themselves seriously...or at least give that impression.
Some folks can be downright tiresome...not to mention drama queens.

What IS the proper terminology for a male-type masculine man-person who has this personality trait anyway?
