Tenatra: Do the needful: So would someone who is using like this ever truly admit it? I am not sure what to do about him, but fear rock bottom can't be too far away.

Depends on how open they are about it but they most likely wouldn't speak about using hard drugs outside of their circles as it isn't something socially acceptable.

I've only dabbled with drugs myself. Ecstasy, Oxy, weed but never did them more than a couple times. I have looked like hell before just as bad, if not worse than Mac does in this picture (and I'm 26) Growing out my beard for a month will nearly double my age and I just look like a wreck when it is going from being trimmed at a #3 to getting a bit of length. During my periods of insomnia, if I go out the next day without doing my hair I will look even more strung the fark out. 5' 9" 125-135lbs and a high metabolism, I can't gain any weight even though I eat like a fat ass. On most days I will look like a druggie even though I don't get to have the added bonus of getting high.

/He could also be having struggles with inner demons through mental health problems like depression, bipolar, etc.

Mac last February, or when this picture was taken.

I'm saying it's heroin, but.....

Seriously, it isn't a secret that he likes pills. He was busted a few years ago for them. And I know people don't always look their best and can have bad pictures taken of them, but come on.

Yea I'm not saying that it is or isn't for Mac I was just telling Do the Needful that not everybody that fits the textbook image of a druggie is one. ;)

If you look at photos of him on flickr or around the net you can see the difference between his child face with baby fat and his grown up face most of which look rather thin.

alwaysjaded: Can't really say from just one picture but I will say when I was hooked on heroin and in a strange city, he looks exactly like the type of person I would have asked to help me score. Those types of sleeves he's wearing is the type I would wear to hide the fact I was shooting in my knuckles. And a 6k a month habit would definitely cause some collapsed veins.

FuturePastNow: There's no way he still has enough cash to spend six grand a month on drugs.

His net worth as of 2012 was 15 million. I'd say he can buy as much dope as he wants for a long time.

How the hell did he land Mila Kunis to begin with????

farkityfarker: Another child star grows up to have a self-destructive life.

And I doubt his relationship with Michael Jackson helped any.

Didn't his family go through a particularly contested divorce? I believe that sort of thing can really hurt the soul.

At least he doesn't look like Edward Furlong:

My bet is on alcohol and pills. Lots of it.

I can tell you that for the most part, everyone I ever met (myself included) that was involved hardcore into the heavy stuff were running from something. I know it's hard for people to understand why they would do those things to themselves, but when you get to the point of using heroin you don't give a flying fark whether you live or die. I beat it cause when I went to rehab for the 4th time, I really did some incredibly deep soul searching and faced what I was dealing with (in my case, I lost over 17 loved ones in the course of 5 years). It's not impossible but the person has to really be able to confront themselves and not everyone can. Hopefully he'll hit rock bottom before he does major damage and wants to crawl out. Good luck.

I posted that earlier but forget the movie. What is it?

Probably thinking of Mel Brooks "Life stinks". Origins of the phrase are from Bourdain's "Typhoid Mary".

I switched over to sugar free ones a few years ago and now Im onto a combination of those little cans of Starbucks shot of Esspresso and a sugar free Red Bull in the morning. Sure, I'd rather bump some hefty rails to start my day, but until this War on Drugs ends we all have to make sacrfices.

I just can't do the sugar-free.

My old boss used to bust my balls over the 20oz cans I had stocked in the office refrigerator, saying "how can you drink that stuff, it's awful for you", as he would crack open a fresh Diet Coke... one of the 12 he'd drink in an 8 hour day.

Then we'd go outside, smoke a couple Marlboros and discuss the finer points of BBQ, various scotches, and bacon.

Mac 2010

nope! read the caption in bold under that picture in the article:

"Healthier looking: The actor's drug addiction is said to have intensified after his split from long-term girlfriend Mila Kunis, around 18 months ago, pictured in 2005"

/in latest pic, that scraggly stubbly goatee certainly isn't doing him any favours. I thought he looked like Skip Spence, circa 1969

I live in the south and so I watch folks drink gallons of Mt. Dew daily like its going to be taken away from them. My dad has been trying to turn me onto Scotch, I just havent developed a taste for it yet. How you feel about cigars?

His whole childhood was spent on the run learning to be the warrior savior of humanity, but then they beat Skynet when he was 12 and he grew up with no useful skills. Give him a break.

I can't say I've ever had one of those. There's no one brand or style I like, I try something different every time. I think it's kind of like good Scotches in that way, I like trying good stuff. Anything but Cutty, my dad drank that shiat for years and I won't touch it.
