If more people in China had actual AK-47s this wouldn't happen. At least, not with a knife.

You would think that someone would have put the kung-fu on him before he got too stabby...

ALL ASSAULT KNIVES SHOULD BE BANNED.....

2012-08-02 10:12:53 AM
If you ban knives, only the criminals will have knives.

2012-08-02 10:16:44 AM
this is all because of all those knives Eric Holder secretly shipped to China.......

Weird. When you have guns, people get shot with them.

It's like they are fulfilling their designed purpose.

Oh, it really WAS a knife attack!

Either way, I feel terrible for the victims.

As a former bouncer, I REALLY hate knives. Really, really, really hate knives. Knives are quiet, they are easier to conceal. They are fast when in the hands of someone who knows how, and even if you know what you're doing to defend yourself, they are dangerous in the hands of even an amateur. Got stabbed working the floor at the club, and never even knew the guy had a knife while I got his buddy down. Just reached over and stuck me three times before I even registered he was there. Luckily, he only had a Swiss Army knife, and it was a tiny blade, but even still, it was damn ugly. Had to do one knife disarm on the floor, and I got lucky that the kid had no idea how to handle the blade, or I would have gotten cut fairly badly. I hate knives with a passion, and a knife in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing is a lot scarier than a gun.

Even if you're carrying a gun, a knife is a significant threat, especially if you're in close. Cops are trained to draw before an assailant gets within 21' for a reason. In the time it takes you to draw and take a bead, someone that close is on you, and they've probably gotten close enough to stick you. Or slash something that you'd rather have intact. Knives are fast, they are incredibly dangerous, and even in the hands of an amateur, they can be horrifically effective.

I hate knives with a passion. Trained with them, trained to defend against them, and even in training, you realize that you are probably going to get cut. Even the goofy magic marker drills show you how easy it is to get cut or stabbed. I hate them. I hate, hate, hate them.

Ban anything not made from bamboo and used for eating!!!!

Did you guys know you can buy an UNLIMITED amount of knives on the internet?!

I don't know what this guy's stockpile was like, but clearly we must ban the online sale of knives.

EVEN A CONVICTED FELON CAN BUY A SET OF STEAK KNIVES.......EVERYBODY PANIC

As a former bouncer, I REALLY hate gays. Really, really, really hate gays. Gays are quiet, they naturally know how to conceal. They are fast when in the hands of someone who knows how, and even if you know what you're doing to defend yourself, they are dangerous in the hands of even an amateur. Got pricked working the floor at the club, and never even knew the guy had the gay while I got his buddy down. Just reached over and stuck me three times before I even registered he was there. Luckily, he only had a Irish Army gay, and it was a tiny blade, but even still, it was damn ugly. Had to do one gay disarm on the floor, and I got lucky that the kid had no idea how to handle his blade, or I would have gotten farked fairly deeply. I hate gays with a passion, and a gay in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing is a lot scarier than a chicken sammich.

Even if you're carrying a chicken sammich, a gay is a significant threat, especially if you're in close. Chefs are trained to assemble the sammich before a customer gets within 21' for a reason. In the time it takes you to butter and stack the pickle, someone that close is on you, and they've probably gotten close enough to stick it in you. Or smash something that you'd rather have inviolate. Gays are fast, they are incredibly dangerous, and even in the hands of an amateur, they can be horrifically effective.

I hate gays with a passion. Trained with them, trained to defend against them, and even in training, you realize that you are probably going to get it in the butt. Even the fruity Mr Sketch marker drills show you how easy it is to get sucked or farked. I hate them. I hate, hate, hate them.

Obviously your training neglected a certain aspect.

Knives are scary, but there's a real simple thing you can do to thwart them in part. I wouldn't want to go toe to toe with someone holding a knife when I was unarmed, but a nice armor of some sort would certainly level the playing field.

I heard they make slash proof shirts now since the Akiba stabbings, but you can just get industrial chainmail, like a butcher's apron, and make your own vest and sleeves. Set it under your shirt, wear a jacket over top, keep some poles on hand in the club like those catch poles in Japanese public buildings, and knives become a little more tolerable.

Personally, I'm not going near a knife wielder without calling the ambulance FIRST. I know what happens.

Being a responsible knife owner, I've taught responsible knife use to my children. Slice back and forth across the grain for some cuts of beef, and with the grain for others.

Always treat the knife as if it's sharp, even if it's not.

Got a Marine Ka-bar at home, always bring it with me when I go camping. Big, heavy knife - can use it for chopping small branches if you need to. I've used it so much the black non-reflective coating they put on it has chipped and fallen away quie a bit.

Scary looking thing - I wouldn't want anyone coming after me with that in their hand.

I did a lot of martial arts training and close up, it was ALWAYS much easier to disarm someone with a pistol pointed at your head than a knife held anywhere.

I have to agree with you. The lethal guns (357, 9mm, .40, .45, etc) are big and you can typically see them being drawn. A butterfly knife can just farking come out of nowhere.

Try paying closer attention to this story than you did to the Batman massacre. You're being led by the nose by ruthless, bloodthirsty megalomaniacs. Kind of reminds me of the Old Testament...

Wow. It's almost as if ... people are arseholes, regardless of the tools available to them.

Are we the only country in the world, who when faced with a problem involving other people, our immediate solution is to hand out more guns? This helps?

If we recognize that people are farked up and will do crazy things, why don't we try harder to keep those things that allow them to do the most damage out of the general population. I mean, yeah the gubment gonna take your kids, jerbs, whatever...eat your fried chicken and shut the fark up.

But what if I attempt to sharpen the blade my self? I suppose that's illegally manufacturing a high-capacity knife.

9/11 could have been prevented if we restricted the range of planes to 10 miles. Well it would have taken them a while longer to accomplish their task anyway.

Actually, my father made the knife. I grew up in a house full of knives, guns, bows, crossbows, blowguns, atlatls, boomerangs, bolas, spears, you name it.

I had the coolest childhood *EVAR*:
