Shouldn't this have gone on the Main page? We're not going to be able to have a good and proper BBQ flame war in the geek tab.

/ yea, yea. I know there was numbers and stuff

Not bad, but using onions for one metric when everything else uses meat kind of throws the whole thing off. Could have gone with a chicken leg, steak and a pork chop, or silhouettes of the animals.

And on the top left, shouldn't the tines be facing the other direction?

Could someone explain all these restaurants selling Kobe Burgers but never Kobe steaks. I know it's all Wagyu, but there have to be some steaks to have the trimmings that become Kobe Burgers.

/And still the Zagat rated restaurant incinerated it.

Why call it a BBQ infographic when it merely depicts grilling?

An info graphic about "bbq" missing brisket, beef clod, beef ribs, pork ribs, pork shoulder, turkeys, chickens, hams, etc.

Also, BBQ joints aren't known for their grilled hot dogs, hamburger, kebabs, or onions.

Because Kobe is a made up thing that doesn't mean anything.

Dear yankees and Ohio-ans, BBQ is smoked pig. You are grilling, or 'cooking out'.

And if your BBQ sauce contains tomato or ketchup, or any shiat like that, you're doing it wrong.

I grill. I barbecue. I smoke. I roast.

They are not the same, but they are similar; delicious when done properly.

It doesn't come close to being as informative as the infamous "sun stroke" infographic.

Yeah, there are real Kobe steaks from Japan that are worth it, but 'kobe' produced anywhere else is just a well marbled steak. 'Kobe burger meat' is just normal steak with some fat added to give it that flavor.

I live in Los Angeles, and for such a bastion of culture, they have a pitiful selection of BBQ restaurants. Whats worse, i go to one, and its decent, then by the next time i go there, its half as good as it was, for some reason. Happens every time.

If we're going to have a pendant thread I'll have to point out that Barbecue, which BBQ is simply an abbreviation for, is indeed a verb.

Really doubling down on the claim that the word "barbecue" isn't a verb? Okay, so if neither Merriam-Webster or the Oxford English dictionary aren't good enough is there a dictionary that exists that you will believe if it says barbecue is indeed a verb?

Now, I agree with the fact that grilling over high heat is not barbecuing, which is a low and slow method. But to say the word barbecue isn't a verb, to say in effect that it is not a method of cooking and thus can't be used to say I am going to barbecue some pork or that you have barbecued a brisket, that's just special.

1. Don't get involved in a land war in Asia.
2. Don't try to argue with Southerners about which regional variation constitutes "real" BBQ.

The verb you're looking for regarding your brisket preparation is "ruining."

When I moved to the central PA area, I found out that people use barbecue to refer to cooking food on a grill. I bought a "barbecued" chicken that had no sauce on it and was surprised.

The Baby Blues in Venice always does fairly well. Smokehouse isn't bad for Carolina style. BBQ King was awesome until the Orsini expanded and tore it down.
