So, it would seem a little odd that a highly paid government worker would be staggering around a McDonald's parking lot, without a car, demanding burgers and fries from a drive-thru

Well, yes. Usually they're also missing their pants as well as their car.

so a woman does the responsible thing and doesn't get behind the wheel while hammered and she gets arrested for it? what was she supposed to do, not eat mcdonalds? call the one cab in town and ask for a lift? if you close the dining room at night but leave the drive-through lane open, you'd better accommodate for some foot-traffic.

Down in our 'hood, with standard drunks around and about hungry all hours of the day and night, we get a slightly different approach to the drive-thru. From today's CBC Hamilton News page:

Police arrested a Hamilton man early Thursday after he threw a rollerblade through a drive-thru window.

Plain clothes officers were in the area of a McDonalds on Barton Street E. around 2 a.m. when they saw a 29-year-old attempt to buy food.

When the man was refused service he tossed a rollerblade through the drive-thru window.

A) studies have shown you are more likely to be arrested for walking drunk than driving drunk (i think I read that in one of the freakonomics books). And B) they discriminate against people on foot. Lol

Her blood alcohol content was .197 on a preliminary breath test.

Why did she have to submit to a breath test? She wasn't driving. She wasn't even in a car.

On the other hand. I wouldn't drive if I were .197. But I wouldn't be staggering around a parking lot throwing my job title at anyone either. What a light weight.

GS-14 have the power to Summon Meetings, Reschedule Meetings Around Their Schedule, and Defeat Death by PowerPoint. As a Subordinate, if you are given a Direct Order by a GS-14, you must "consider doing it"

Although GS-15 is the highest GS, there is also a SPS(?) grade which is higher that GS 15.

Kind of strange that they didn't print her name. Got a police report and all. Maybe she didn't have her CAC.

An apparently intoxicated 27-year-old Chicagoan, walked up to the drive thru in Greenfield, Wis., and demanded food, claiming she was a "level 14 government employee.

A 27 year old GS-14 does not exist. Not even if her last name was Obama-Bush-Clinton. There would be a massive uprising considered, planned, reconsidered and possibly acted upon in the near future by all the GS-12s and 13s who have patiently waited, attended Phoenix University, back stabbed and aligned themselves to the right superiors to get a 14 slot.

Funniest thing I ever heard "I have a Doctorate from Phoenix University. Please refer to me as 'Doctor'." And no, he did not have a doctorate. He and another gent were up for a GS-14 slot and the other gent 'discovered' this error. After it was thusly learned, he did not get the job and disappeared for a month. When he came back, he went right back to his old job with no repercussions. Strange, if I disappeared from work for a month, there would be someone else doing it when I came back.

I dunno, it's Taco Bell in Ohio, too. The explosive diarrhea does a great job of forcing all the extra alcohol out of your system, which helps reduce your hangover the next day.

Or maybe not. The McDonald's workers were clearly not impressed, and called police.

The unidentified woman became combative, telling responding officers: "Don't touch me."

In my experience, if you are given a direct order by a GS-14, you tell your contractors to drop everything else they are doing and do that instead.

Still 27 years old is pretty young for a GS 14. You usually hit that grade around 50. after you retire out from military so you can start working on your second pension via Goverment Civillian. then, transfer over to the private sector for #3.

That second home in Branson aint gonna pay for itself. The first ex-wife never remarried 'cause she hung on to you for 10 years and a day in the military. She's gonna get half of that retirement until her heart explodes and they have to cut a wall to get her corpse out of the trailer. Second wife wants nu-boobs. Tri and Care won't cover that. The Ford F-350 (the little truck) is getting near 100,000 miles. Need to trade her in on the new model. Kid's having school/health/law issues. Wife number two doesn't want them back in 'her' house.

Knew a lot of double dippers. They always envied the triple dippers.

She must be the exception to the rule. Most government employees writing programs to store and scan our emails, license plate ID software programs, cell phone geo-location databases, suspicious bank transaction reports, suspicious buying habit pattern identification, facial identification software, social network scans, and manning regional intel fusion centers and drone programs are the most humble and helpful people you'll meet.

FBI and ice are 13s. You can join ice at 18. Its not crazy to be on the way up a supervisory ladder over a decade.

Generally wouldnt go to the drunk though...
