(Patch)   You're being loud at a bar and a cop tells you to calm down. Do you (A) slap the cop in the face, break his glasses and damage a nearby truck; or (B) literally anything other than (A)?   (fortstewart.patch.com) divider line 23

Help me out here subby; I'm not understanding how he damaged the truck by slapping the cop and breaking his glasses.

You push the bartender and yell SHOW ME THE MONEY.

Sometimes there is no C because someone or something else got involved to keep you from that.

That sounds like a fun town. Joking aside, sounds like the cop showed as much retraint as possible and he didn't charge the guy with assaulting an officer so good for him.

I prefer to pull down my pants, jump up on a bar stool and slap the cop in the nose with my junk..... I believe that falls under B

FTFA: "The officer attempted to place Jacoby under arrest, but Jacoby allegedly put up a struggle. Jacoby's girlfriend also allegedly attempted to interfere with the arrest. A parked truck was struck twice during the scuffle, apparently causing dents."

It's an impressive mental image that subby conjures up. A cop steps up to a drunk and tell him to calm down. The drunk spins around and slaps the cop through the front window and into a pickup truck parked on the street. It's like a spaghetti western cum super hero movie.

I like the second article.

5 women waiting to go into a bar
2 women allowed in (enough capacity for 2 but not for 5)
A fight breaks out between 4 of the 6 women.

Jesus tap-dancing Christ, how many times could the word "allegedly" appear in that article?

/Grammer Nazi and proud of it

Catsaregreen,
When a journalist is trying to avoid libeling a person who's only charged with a crime but not yet convicted, "allegedly" tends to get tossed around a lot. And none of the uses in the article were ungrammatical.

$100. bucks says they don't publish the full names and addresses of cops that are arrested/charged with crimes.

Wow. 8 "allegedly"s in such a short article. Looks like someone once got in trouble with the editor for making unsubstantiated claims...

/That'll show him.

Here in Oklahoma City, it would be C: Beat the cop until he's paralyzed from the neck down.

So wait, the guy struck the officer and the cop didn't shoot him dead on the spot. I'm amazed.

That's an allegation. Do you have any proof? Or are you ready to pay the libel claim?
